More About Coach Wanemi
I have years of coaching and playing experience at the Division 1 and high school level on both sides of the ball. I have worked with the Matt Rhule Football Camp via Temple University, Burlington Township High School, and the Mt. Laurel YMCA, which has allowed me to have experience coaching all age groups, though I specialize in training middle school and high school level athletes.
During my time playing at tight end and defensive end, I served as captain of the 2014 Temple Owls, coached by Matt Rhule. As a tight end, I learned the Spread Pro offense from my offensive coordinator, Ryan Day. During my time at Temple University, I had 18 starts and played in 28 games. I was a 2-time All-County and 1-time All-State Defensive End at Burlington Township High School, while being selected to the North-South All-Star game my senior year.
In our session, we can expect to work on the core traits it takes to become a great player. Starting before the session, we will understand hydration and nutrition. We will understand a proper warm-up routine to minimize injury risk. The work session will comprise skills tailored to the athlete's positional play, footwork, hand placement, eye discipline, and field awareness, with the goal being an athlete who can play fast with confidence and no hesitation.
Drills will comprise ladder work, route running, footwork, and attacking blind spots.
Blocking and defeating blocks using B.L.A.S.T and C.U.F.F. principales
We can expect to work arc and veer releases for offensive players and for defensive players, explosive get-offs with hand violence and eye discipline.
