More About Coach Vitor
I have been coaching athletes at all levels, youth U11 - U16, high school players, college players, and professional players. High school and youth coaching experience as a head coach and also as assistant coach. Have also coach NBA players: Rudy Gobert, George Niang, Rau Neto.
I have played for Brazil National Team U17 and U18 in international tournaments, after that I have moved to the US to play Junior College (Utah State University - Eastern) and later DII (Adams State University). After graduating with my BA - Sports Management I started coaching at the high school level (Alamosa High School) and provide skills workout for HS players and college players as well as working on my MBA. After one year of coaching, I went back to Brazil (hometown) to train some pro athletes, while doing it, was offered a contract to play in Brazil first league, played NBB and also international tournaments. I played professionally for 1 year and a half before moving back to the US to finish my MBA, and start my coaching career.
A client can expect a lot of details as far as footwork, positioning, fundamentals, understanding of the game and why those details are so important. I start every session with basic fundamentals, I believe that is the foundation to be able to do more complex drills and more advanced skills. Once done with basic fundamentals, I like to work on ball handling and finish close to the rim. It is extremely important to understand angles, how to use the backboard, and aligned with the footwork necessary to be efficient and effective on your moves and decision making.
