More About Coach Valerie

Valerie Bozza is a Certified Athletic Trainer and holds a Master of Science Degree in Injury and Sports Biomechanics. She is currently the Director of Performance/Injury Prevention at Top Tier Athletics ( www.TopTierAthletics.Training). Val has served as an Athletic Trainer for numerous different sports at a variety of colleges in Florida, North Carolina, and New Jersey as well as having worked at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando. She was previously employed as a Performance and Injury Prevention Specialist Fast Twitch Performance Training in Miami, Florida. Her time is spent developing individualized training programs for her athletes that cater toward improving their performance within their sport and preventing future injuries.

Aside from having played soccer most of my life, I have done extensive research in a number of different sports. Some of my most recent research includes thesis work evaluating the effects different types of warm ups have on the body's ability to produce maximal muscular output with upper body sports.

Each training session is customized to the needs of the athlete. Biomechanics are a large focus in training implementation. By focusing on proper biomechanics of movement, athletes will enhance their abilities to properly produce force, power and improve their speed, agility, strength, and conditioning. Creating proper movement patterns and chains of muscular activation also decreases injury risk and allows athletes to play longer.
