I have experience as a coach and as an athlete. I was a strength and conditioning coach at the NCAA Div 1 level at Illinois State University for 3 years. As a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, my teams won 3 conference championships and had 2 runner up finishes. I also have 2 years of experience at a private facility as a performance coach prior to my collegiate strength and conditioning position. I also am currently pursing coursework to become a registered dietitian.

In addition to my professional and athletic careers, I proudly served in the United States Navy as a Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor. This position afforded me the opportunity to train others in weapons handling and marksmanship. I consider this experience to teach a variety of individuals from various backgrounds to be invaluable.

I have experience as an athlete at the NJCAA Div 1 level as well. I played 2 years of basketball and was voted team captain my sophomore year. During my year as team captain, we won the only region championship in school history. This experience helped to build leadership skills as well as afford the opportunity to lead by example.

The initial training session will provide a biomechanical screening as well as a general fitness assessment. Following the initial screening, a typical session with me will involve 3 main components. A thorough dynamic warm up will prepare the muscles and central nervous system for the task ahead. Our work session will follow the warm up with whatever the training is for that particular day. Finally a mobility/flexibility cool down will end the session. I focus my programs on the needs of my athletes and the needs of their respective sport. Whether and athlete needs to focus on their speed and agility or spend time working of their sport specific conditioning, I have the tools necessary to assess and implement a sound training protocol.
