More About Coach Tricia
I have over 3 years of experience specializing in high-performance middle-distance and endurance coaching. My background spans Middle School, High School, and Collegiate athletes, with a primary focus on High School runners looking to bridge the gap into the recruitment-level tier. I have mostly worked within the southern pines area, assisting with Pinecrest Highschool athletes outside of official practice. I am currently a senior at UNC Charlotte pursuing a Pre-Med Exercise Science degree.
Elite Athletic Performance & History
My coaching philosophy is rooted in a diverse and high-achieving athletic career that spans over a decade of competitive excellence. I have competed at the State and National levels across four distinct athletic disciplines, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to perform under pressure and break records.
State and National Honors:
Combat Sports: Recognized as the Most Outstanding Jr. Female at the Hawaii State Karate Championships in 2013 and 2014, followed by becoming a Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist at the AAU Karate National Championships in 2015.
Powerlifting: Established and held USA Powerlifting (USAPL) NC State Records in the -84kg Teen 1 Division for Squat, Bench, Deadlift, and Total (2019–2020).
Track & Field & Swimming: I am a 2023 NC Track & Field State Competitor in Discus and have competed at the NC LC AG Championships for swimming.
Check-In-
We don’t just start running. We will start with a quick assessment of your current state, fatigue, and soreness. As an Exercise Science major, I look for any mechanical red flags before they turn into injuries.
Warm-Up-
Most runners break down at the ankles, shins, or hips. We spend time on specific drills that prime your stabilizing joints and activate your kinetic chain.
Session- This is the meat of the work. Whether it’s track intervals, hill repeats, or explosive lifting, the focus is on quality over volume. I’m a big believer in whatever mileage an athlete needs to succeed.
Recovery & Support- A session with me doesn't end when the watch stops. We talk about the "why", how to fuel, and how to recover so you can do it again.
Lifting plans- There will be lifting plans made to accommodate each runner and their specific race and gait needs.
