More About Coach Tom

My previous experience as the captain of Fordham University’s Division I track and cross-country programs. My desire to foster unprecedented talent is a result of prescribing effective training advice to my teammates. This standard held true in multiple A10 Conference titles, school records, NCAA East regional appearances, and awards these past 2 years from both my hardworking teammates and myself- accomplishments which garnered our team’s greatest success in over a decade. I have also been decorated with the 360 Leadership Award from Fordham's Athletic Dept and a semi-finalist for the Vincent T. Lombardi Award.

My philosophy holds to different phases:
1. Base Work- Aerobic strength, Threshold Work, Consistent Mileage
2. Interval Training- Hills, Track Work
3. Speed Dev.- Closing speed to finish races and training fast-twitch muscles are key at every distance

These phases are in conjunction with flexibility training (Hurdle-drills, Stretching static & dynamic, form drills), core strengthening.
This will all become tailored to the individual athlete as well as the goals we will set out to achieve. I will ensure you are held accountable for training since your success is ultimately my responsibility.

Confidence plays the major role in racing and curbs race anxiety- I will get you to where you want to go and a few steps further.

Coach Tom has been training my son 1:1 for over a month on running endurance and overall strength. Tom is an amazing coach, and absolutely professional and consistent in his training approach!
Tom has a lesson plan and goal for every session, and adjusts exercises and targets in real-time as needed. He listens, and makes sure that he understands the overall objective. One aspect that my son found most helpful is that Tom runs all of the track sets/exercises with him, be it sprints, long sets or conditioning exercises, which provides pace and form guidance. During the runs, Tom shares information and pointers from his personal track experience, so it's easy for my son to correct immediately to adopt more efficient strides and/or breathing techniques!
