More About Coach Timothy
I currently serve as the Horizontal Jumps Coach at Mississippi College (NCAA Division II). I have coached NCAA National Qualifiers, conference champions, and a Gulf South Conference record holder in the triple jump.
My experience at the collegiate level has given me a deep understanding of the technical precision, speed development, and mental preparation required to succeed in the horizontal jumps.
While I primarily work with college athletes, I have successfully coached middle school and high school athletes by adapting training to their developmental stage and emphasizing proper progression and injury prevention.
Born and raised in Jamaica, I competed at the NCAA Division II level for five years in the long jump, triple jump, and sprints. I hold the long jump school record at Nova Southeastern University and earned six conference medals across the 4x100 relay, long jump, and triple jump.
Competing at multiple NCAA programs gave me first-hand experience in what it takes to perform at a high level and how to develop athletes for collegiate success.
Every session begins with an assessment of the athlete’s mechanics, speed, and strength levels. From there, we build a structured progression focused on:
• Proper sprint mechanics
• Takeoff and board accuracy
• Phase development (hop, step, jump)
• Elastic strength and injury prevention
My goal is to develop technically sound, confident jumpers who understand not just how to jump farther — but why they are doing what they are doing.
Training is tailored to the athlete’s age, experience level, and competitive goals
