More About Coach Shannon
I have experience with HIIT; kettlbells; battleropes; bodyweight exercise; I also offer nutritional support and guidance. I am certified through the american college of sports medicine as a personal trainer, however I also do teach strength and conditioning classes when called upon to do so. I have worked at box gyms such as LA fitness and also at private personal training studios. I have a background in corrective exercise making sure that any dysfunction or compensation in the muscles is fixed and joints are working properly to ensure no injury occurs. I have worked with everyone from children to the elderly as well as those with medical conditions which inhibited them from working out of a wheelchair.
I played sports my entire life. I played field hockey and wrestled in high school, I also played adult field hockey even in the snow! I love maintaining an active lifestyle and love to encourage others to do the same.
Every client is different, every program is personalized. I like to sit down with a client and go over goals and make a plan of how we will reach them. I will do weigh ins and measurements on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to avoid plateaus. For a typical weight loss client for example the session will usually consist of upper, lower, core and cardio; four exercises, three rounds of each. For a more sport specific client we may work on whatever it is that specific sport needs. For a football player for example we will work on their speed, agility, timing and also how they are eating to fuel their body to get the most out of their programming. For a baseball player, especially pitchers we would work on strengthening up the shoulder, performing corrective exercises to keep the joint and muscles/ligaments/tendons around the joint healthy and working well and also work on their hand eye coordination.
