More About Coach Shane

I have trained athletes at all levels, from youth to professional. I have experience at the collegiate (TCU, Sam Houston State, UT-Arlington), high school (Fort Worth Country Day, Cypress Creek HS, Giddings HS), and private sectors (Velocity Sports Performance Houston). I am currently the Director of Athletic Development at FWCD and am certified with the NSCA and USA-W.

I competed in football, basketball, and baseball in high school earning All-District accolades. Earned a preferred walk-on position for football in college.

I sit down and discuss the goals and expectations of the athlete first. I will then take them through a series of tests and movements to assess basic movement and athletic skills. My primary focus when training athletes is to ensure fundamental movement skills have been mastered first and then progressing to more advanced movements, whether in the weight room or on the field/court. A typical workout is anywhere from 1 hour to 1.5 hours and consists of thorough dynamic performance prep, weight training, energy system development, skill work, and cool down. Each training session has a specific goal according to the athletes needs.
