More About Coach Sean M.
I have nearly a decade of experience and education as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, Sports Performance Coach, Weightlifting Coach, CrossFit Coach, Personal Trainer, Sport Psychology Consultant, and Kinesiology Instructor. I have a Master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology with a dual minor in Health Science and Coaching Science.
I have worked with athletes from multiple sport domains and at all skill levels. I have worked with youth athletes to Olympic track athletes. I design specific Strength and Conditioning plans for each athletes individual needs. Each session will focus on mobility, strength and sport specific drills.
I also provide Sport Psychology services to help athletes increase their Mental Performance. Sport Psychology consulting meetings will consist of working on mental skills training (i.e., goal setting, imagery, relaxation, focus).
I have been playing sports all my life. As a young kid I focused a lot of my time playing hockey and BMXing. In junior high I joined the cross country and track and field team. During his time I stilled played hockey outside of school and BMXed. In high school I gave up BMXing and focused all my time on football and hockey. I also played volleyball between the football and hockey season. During my four years on the football team, (3 of them were spent playing at the varsity level) we won our league four years in a row only loosing one league game in our four years. Cadie J. (Testimonial)
I am an above knee amputee that started Crossfit a year ago. Sean Chamberlain was my coach and instilled confidence in me that I could do anything I set my mind to. He adapted my workouts without making me feel like I was doing something separate than the group. Sean believes anyone can do anything despite their limitations (physical or mental) and put in extra effort to make sure everyone reached their goal.
Jack R. (Testimonial)
I’ve been doing CrossFit for over 4 years, I’m a level 1 trainer with several CrossFit certs. I began training with Sean in March 2012. Prior to Sean I was completing mostly metcons and following the CrossFit main site WODs most of the time. Of course I was good following HQ programming and I felt my progress was okay. However, I was NOT able to do a 135# snatch, lacked skill on most Olympic lifts, and was always sore (never followed any sort of SMR). Sean’s programming and “strength” focus helped me, for lack of a better way to put it, get so much STRONGER! After a few short months I was snatching 135# with relative ease, was able to accomplish a 185# overhead squat (something I’ve struggled with the last 4 years), and with Sean’s help… I learned the importance of SMR. Following Sean’s approach to CrossFit helped me PR on all my heavy lifts, shaved gobs of time off my WODs, and really just took me to the next level of being fit (and shredded). I’ve never seen anyone “smarter” and more dedicated to CrossFit coaching than Sean! He truly is passionate about fitness and helping his clients progress to maximize their true athletic potential. In my humble opinion, Sean is a genius and he produces superior results. His reputation quickly spread around the Charlotte CrossFit community and his approach to programming was highly sought after (and utilized) by a lot of boxes.
Steve S. (Testimonial)
I began training with Sean in January 2013. After three months, I can say Sean is both extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to helping his athletes succeed. He took the time to understand my personal goals – taking into account both strengths and weaknesses – and helped me break out of a plateau that had me bored and frustrated. Since training under Sean’s programming, my strength and endurance have both improved to the point that I’m able to move more weight, faster and more efficiently than I thought I ever would.
