More About Coach Scott

The coaching profession has been a passion of mine for quite some time. I grew up with great examples of how to coach young athletes all the way through the collegiate level. Having been a collegiate level thrower, I was coached by one of the best throws coaches in the country. I currently coach high school throwers for a school district in the area and have been doing so for the last 11 years with national and state level qualifiers.

I was a district champion shot put thrower in high school as well as a successful 3rd place finish in the discus. Collegiately I threw the Hammer Throw at Stephen F. Austin State University and made the finals or top 8 multiple times throughout my career. Athletically not always the best, but with technique and attention to detail created lots of success and opportunity to improve.

You can expect a positive atmosphere along with a customized session for your athlete;\'s age and grade level. We will usually follow a protocol and procedure of doing body position drills and footwork drills while not holding the implement then progress to holding the implement then going through the full throw of the implement. I feel this process presents an opportunity to really understand the full throw.

Great coaching session!

Coach Scott is the perfect "throws" coach. I booked him to give my 11 year old son pointers on throwing the shot put & discus. He broke down the steps to increase throwing distances for shot put & discus. It was very easy for my son to follow. My son hit a new PR with only 1 session in with Coach Scott. He increased his distance 3ft 2in. Thanks for giving my kid the confidence boost he needed. We are looking forward to booking more sessions soon.
