More About Coach Sarah

I am a Certified Running Coach through UESCA and a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. The combination of these two certifications gives me the ability to train my clients on their running goals while simultaneously incorporating strength workouts to improve their running economy. I have worked with runners will all abilities, beginners to Boston Marathon runners.

I am an endurance athlete myself with a half marathon finishing time of 1:43:27 and marathon finishing time of 3:38:20. I am currently training for long distance triathlons (Half Ironman and Ironman distances.)

I coach through an online app (Final Surge) where I upload the athlete's running and strength workouts on a weekly/biweekly basis. I prescribe warm-up activities prior to every run and well as plyometric drills generally twice per week to improve running economy.

The strength I prescribe could be as little or as much as the athlete wants, and is to tailored for becoming a more efficient runner. (I also create strength training plans based off of the individual’s goals-not only running specific workouts.)

The Final Surge app syncs directly to your GPS devices which allows me to evaluate your running/workout data (heart rate, pace, elevation gain/loss, mile splits, etc) and I build your plan off of your current fitness and abilities.

Every athlete has my cell phone number, allowing him/her to text me any time the current plan needs to be modified or with any questions (I literally text my runners daily 😃 and I love it!) I do biweekly/monthly Zoom calls to check-in to see how things are going and to chat about any concerns, or just say hi.

This basically gives you a running coach and personal trainer in your back pocket! I look forward to working with you!

Running Gait and Stride Analysis is another service I provide. The individual sends me videos of him/her running from various angles, I analyze the videos, making on-screen observations and give a detailed report on form and possible corrections for the runner to apply immediately for improved running economy.

1:39:34!! Felt great, was getting tired at mile 10 but kept hanging on to the 1:40 pacer for dear life. Strong push the last mile. I felt so strong and capable and prepared for this and that’s what helped me hang on at the end- I did not work this hard to be so close and miss my goal!!! I loved the training plan and the way it challenged me and prepared me for this race (tempos and interval workouts). I especially appreciated the accountability of having you check in and keep an eye on my runs and workouts.
