More About Coach Ryan

I have 5 years Coaching Experience at the High School and Collegiate Levels. I work primarily with Triple and Long Jumpers. I coach any and all age groups.

2017 Top 25 U.S.A. Triple Jumper and National Championship Qualifier. I have Personal Bests of 53'/ 16.15m in the Triple Jump and 23'5"/7.15m in the Long Jump. I competed all throughout high school, college, and am now competing semi-professionally. I earned the 2012 California Community College State Championship in the Triple Jump and 2015 West West Title in the same event. My personal goals include breaking the 17 Meter barrier, competing in the World Championships and Olympics, and to pass on my knowledge of the events to future generations.

I rely heavily on technique during training. I teach basic coordination to better all aspects of the clients athleticism, specific drills to enhance the technique of either triple or long jump, and work on molding the mind of the athlete to provide the confidence that is needed in this sport.

I follow a season timeline that builds up and into competition. For example, performing full jumps is not recommended if we are in July (8 or 9 months out from competition). During this time we will likely be working on basics like plyometrics, bounding, fixing posture, and getting in competition shape. As we get closer to the beginning of season we will implement approach work, jumping technique, and continue to fine tune as needed. This method is beneficial to avoid preseason injuries, burnout, and undesirable peaking time.

Client Reviews

Ryan is an excellent coach. In our time working with Ryan he has made it a point to support his athletes and ensure their success both in and off the track. From putting in extra practices to attending track meets to provide guidance his coaching has contributed to the success of our daughter’s. They have learned new techniques and skills and have gained confidence along the way. As a coach, Ryan goes the extra mile. We were impressed by his use of video to show his athletes where they can improve. This allows for immediate feedback where the athlete can not only learn to improve but physically see where their improvement is needed. He’s definitely a coach that we have recommended and will continue to recommend.
Coach Sanders has been coaching both my daughters in long and triple jump for about three years now. We originally met Coach Sanders when he was the jumps coach at a local high school. My girls had no formal jump training and needed help with their technique. Coach Sanders started with breaking down their jumps to ensure they had the proper technique. Over time they both significantly improved their marks in the long and triple jump. His training sessions are professional, thoughtfully planned, and organized. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport has inspired my daughters to perform at their highest ability. Coach Sanders continues to compete in the triple jump at track and field meets. His passion and exceptional skill are evident if you have the chance to see him in action. I highly recommend Coach Sanders as a jumps coach to maximize performance in high school and beyond.
