More About Coach Ryan
I have experience working with athletes of all levels including adolescents, teens, and young adults at the amateur and professional level. I also coach High School Varsity Wrestling and develop strength and conditioning for athletes .I presently coach youth football and do speed strength and agility clinics. I continue to train adults and children at Get Fit Health and Fitness Center in Fairfield, NJ. I was previously the wrestling and strength and conditioning coach at Extreme Fight Club in Woodland Park, NJ..I currently work as a Physical Education Teacher at Charles H Bullock Elementary School in Montclair, NJ. Here I teach students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade the importance of physical activity, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
I was a New Jersey All State wrestler in high school. I was also a multiple county, district, and region champion and four time all conference athlete. Additionally, I was All Conference and All County in football for 3 consecutive years. I was given the Male Athlete of the Year Award in 2004 from Cedar Grove High School. I wrestled at Johnson and Wales University. I was inducted into the Region 4 Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2009. I continue to compete in adult sport leagues including flag football and softball. I train in Powerlifting, Olympic Weightlifting, and Mixed Martial Arts. I recently placed 2nd in my weight class at the MPF powerlifting competition.
I start each athlete with a warm up to raise the heart rate. Next, the athlete will perform dynamic mobility exercises to improve flexibility. Next, I focus on a main lift or exercise and will teach the proper form to improve the strength, speed, and power of an athlete. Afterwards, the athlete will perform multiple exercises simultaneously including any accessory work and metabolic conditioning exercises that are associated with the workout. Finally, I finish with static stretching to improve flexibility and enhance recovery time.
