I started coaching In the Elementary school leagues in Burlingame, CA. right out of high school. I coached both boys and girls, 4th and 5th grades for 5 years. During that time I also head coached the JV girls at Mercy High School in Burlingame, CA After 2 winning seasons I took a job as an assistant at Sacred Heart Preparatory School, in Atherton Ca. For the next 3 years I coached the freshmen team, Junior Varsity and assisted the Varsity team to 3 state titles and a number 4 ranking in the USA today. A year later i returned to Burlingame and coached the Burlingame High School JV boys. At every stop, I was lucky to coach top players including All Americans and a California State Player of the year. At age 28 I retired to start a family.
Recently I began coaching once again with an AAU boys basketball team called Supreme Kourt, in San Carlos. I also assisted the boys varsity team at Carlmont high school in Belmont CA. In 2017 I was named Carlmont High School Varsity Boys Head Coach.

Depending on the specific need and level. What are his/her strengths and weaknesses? What position, with my experience, do I see her playing at the high school level and possibly beyond? If you're a younger player learning the game I have a great deal of knowledge in how to start you off. I believe there is a specific way to begin learning the game. Through the years I've learned how to make it both fun and educational for the younger player.
- I can perfect skills and techniques
- Develop skills needed to compete at the high school and collegiate level.
- Help you or your child to train and compete with confidence

Coach Ron had a great session with my son and two of his friends. Coach Ron was very flexible as our schedule wasn't nailed down 100%. He's really good with the boys (11 years old) and teaching them fundamentals.
Here is an unsolicited text from the mother of my son's friend...

"[my son] and I played on our neighbors little basketball court yesterday. Wow- the coach taught him so much in that hour!! So many good tips - I was so surprised. Thanks!!"

My 15-year-old daughter had a one hour coaching session with Coach Ron recently. Although she has been playing organized basketball for several years, she was struggling with some aspects of her game. Coach Ron immediately identified some areas for improvement and spent the next hour working through multiple drills to help her improve her fundamentals. We could not have been happier with the way he approached the coaching, with encouragement and real-time feedback throughout the entire hour. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a coach to improve their children's basketball performance.

We could not have asked for a better coach for our 11 year old daughter Katie. He has an incredible understanding of the fundamentals of the game and can immediately identify areas to target for improvement. Katie is relatively new to the game and has learned so much from Ron already in 3 lessons! His explanations are clear to her, and she immediately understands the intent behind each of the drills he runs with her. She had so much fun and felt she learned so much in her first lesson that she begged to continue working with him indefinitely! She enjoys every lesson and comes out beaming because she knows she has learned so much in a short period of time. My husband and I have both been greatly impressed and thrilled with his attentive coaching. We couldn’t ask for anyone better to break down and then build the fundamental skills and basics of the game. Coach Ron is outstanding.

Cate loved her session. She had been really nervous but she said “That was really fun!” She definitely wants to meet with you again. Thank you for your patience in working with her!!!

Nice guy. Super positive. Indoor courts would be better.

My son had a few private lessons with coach Ron. He has been very patient and taught him a great deal during the sessions. Coach Ron shaped my son to improve in both skills, techniques and push him so he could be better! We appreciate his effort of coaching basketball with his positive attitude and support! Thank you coach Ron.

Coach Ron is a great coach! My friend and I really enjoyed our first lesson and decided to book more. He is pretty patient and explained skills very clearly. After our first session, we already fell in love with basketball and cannot wait for our next sessions. I would recommend Coach Ron to anyone who is interested in basketball and wants to improve their skills.

Had our first session with coach Ron today. He did a great job breaking down different parts of the the game that every player must have. My boys really liked it and both said they learned something today. I already booked another session with him.

Ron was extremely knowledgeable. I could tell right away that he not only knows basketball but he knows how to teach it. He has great attention to details and I could see how his observations and pointers helped me improve my technique immediately. Highly recommend!

My 11yr old had his first private lesson with Coach Ron and it couldn’t have gone better. Coach Ron got to work right away working on different routines/drills to assess my son’s skill level and ability. The drills were helpful for my son and kept him engaged. Most importantly, my son had fun while being coached and learning. We’re looking forward to more sessions with Coach Ron.

Ron is fantastic. My 13 year old son learned more in an hour then in 3 years playing school teams. Highly recommend!!!

Coach Ron is a great coach and very patient with my 14 year old son, who's enjoyed a private one-on-one as well as a group session with Ron so far. I appreciate Ron's quick responses, as well as his knowledgeable advice and encouraging feedback in terms of my son's potential and recommended path of progress. He is receptive and understanding of my son's desires of improving his basketball skills. He's a very positive and supportive coach! Thank you so much, Coach Ron!

I enthusiastically recommend coach Ron. He is excellent with young athletes, communicates with his athletes in a positive manner and provides his athletes with honest feedback. I believe that my son's game has improved in the near term and will be much improved in the long term as a result of Ron's coaching skills and approach. He also is very likable.

my son (12) just had his second lesson with coach ron, so far he likes it, can't wait to see how he will do with the tryouts soon

Coach Ron was really good in taking my grandson (10 year old) through the fundamentals and explaining the details and purpose for the various drills and lessons. An excellent "teaching" coach. We would definitely sign up with Coach Ron again and would recommend him to younger players working on the basics or trying to improve in certain areas.

My son's session with Coach Ron was great. Coach was on time and quickly assessed my son's level and taught him very specific techniques to improve his game. Thanks Coach, please keep up the good work.

Coach Ron did a great job of quickly sizing up our identical twins (12yo) and getting them to focus on what they each can improve. We'll be spending more time with Ron and his drills/tips.

Coach Ron did a great job with our son (sophomore in high school). He gave him a lot to work on, and we'll be coming back for more.

Great session with Ron! He demonstrated and practiced a limited (and thus, recallable) set of high impact skills. He helped me build a mental model of how to approach my layups, and after drills provided useful feedback on my execution.

That helped me identify a strength (I power step more naturally on the left than the right), and an actionable weakness (I dribble once unnecessarily on my layups).

Great coach, customized service, instant improvement

Coach Ron is a great coach. Our son really likes getting lesson from him because he shows him great basketball strategies that our son is then able to actually use in his school team's basketball games. When we watch our son play in his school's basketball games, we can see our son use the specific techniques that the Coach taught him. Our son's confidence and thrill of playing has soared as he becomes more successful in making shots, stealing the ball, positioning himself to receive a pass, or defending an opponent.

I like Coach Ron! I was vulnerable with not being as good as an athlete as I wanted to be, but he affirmed my vulnerability and made me feel at ease.

Coach Ron is really nice and patient. That I am just completely a beginner. He is being really patient with me and encouraged me a lot. We did dribbling, foot work and shooting drills. It was really fun. His way of teaching helped me improved a lot just in one session. Looking forward to the second session with him.

My son finished his second training last week and continues his training with coach Ron. Coach Ron knows well about how to teach young players. My son is satisfied with his coaching. He teaches exactly what my son is needed.

Ron is terrific. great attitude. Supportive, but also sets high expectations. He helped my high school aged son work on his perimeter game and movement with the ball. Tremendous difference in the way he moves now,

Ron quickly picked up my son's level of basketball and wasted no time to coach my son in the specific areas needed. Coach Ron suggested that my son jumps and play in a team and suggested where my son should go, he then suggested to coach based my son's team performance. I really like his attitude, professionalism and punctuality. I will definitely recommend him.
Thanks Ron.

Coach Ron is wonderful!! He helped my 10 yr old son teaching him from scratch.
He gives his 100% in the session, does not waste a minute. Very good with kids, knows how to teach them.
Definately I will recommend him!!

Coach Ron is an excellent coach, who demonstrates the patience, knowledge and skill set that is required to help my nephew develop into a better player. I would highly recommend Ron as a coach who can help your athlete progress to their goals.

He was just great. The kids are absolute beginners and they really were inspired.

Great listener. Boosts confidence by commending strengths and working through weakness. A+!

My daughter really enjoyed her practice time with coach Ron. She gave him a thumbs up, which is high praise from her!
