More About Coach Robert

18 years as an NCAA coach. Work with high school athletes and college athletes. From my experience as a Collegiate track coach working primarily with speed and power events, I have the experience and the formula for coaching athletes to run faster.

I was a multi-sport athlete in high school and college. I was a three-time All-American in track and field. I have work with athletes of different starting levels and different backgrounds. But the principles and fundamentals of sport works for all of them.

Please read the following completely as I have tried to elaborate on my methodology so clients know what to expect from me, and what I expect from them.

To run a faster 40....
There are no shortcuts or tricks. Its basic fundamentals. I don't use gimmicks and I don't make outlandish promises.

From my experience in working with sprinters on the Collegiate and Olympic developmental level, the best avenue to getting faster is learning to sprint BY SPRINTING. So, I focus on & teach the mechanics of running --through repetition. The mechanics of sprinting are the biggest influence on getting the most out of what the athlete already has.

Many people can run faster than they are running right now, just by cleaning up their efficiency. If you train with me you will Sprint, and you will learn how to sprint correctly. I do not do any long-distance running or trivial exercises. I don't use gadgets. We learn to Sprint specifically. We will focus on short Sprints down the straightaway which are specific to the 40-yard test. Mechanical proficiency does not happen overnight but takes a series of training sessions over time. This is how it works for us in track and field and it will work for you too.

As part of sessions that we do, I do administer exercises at the end which are specific to the training of the athlete and more important for injury preventative purposes. I ask for athletes to do one or 2 training days a week with me and one day a week on their own. If they're willing to do one day on their own, combined with the sessions in person with me, that's three days per week commitment. So in a six to eight weeks time frame that's plenty of sessions. In my experience that is about the right amount of sessions for an athlete to make changes that are more permanent and positive. But note that the work must be very specific in quality.

I want all my athletes to improve their time. I would like to work with you and help you improve your time in the 40-yard dash. Thank you.

Coach Rob met with my son for the first time to improve his 60 yard dash time. 1st lesson had a ton of great advice! We are looking forward to seeing how much he improves.

Robert is a great Coach he doesn't just work with the athletes, he invest in them. Couldn't have picked a better coach.

If you're looking for a coach to perfect your technique, you should definitely consider Coach Robert. His knowledge of technicality will likely help you to decrease your time simply by changing your mechanics. I've only had one lesson with him so far but I learned quite a lot. He is also very keen on preventing injury, he makes sure to minimize time pounding on the track and has a myriad of preventative plyometric exercises. Throughout practice, he will always make sure you are drinking enough water and, if you have any injuries, he will make sure that you feel okay. Overall, good first impression.

Great coach I totally recommend

Robert started working with my daughter the start of her junior year. He worked with her about 2-3 times a week and gave her workouts to complete on her own as well. In a matter of 2 months, she had made major improvements in her form and her winter track times had improved. She also was winter track MVP. I recommend Robert for student athlete who is willing to dedicate and put in the effort.

After just 1 session with coach Robert my daughter felt like she learned more technique which he fully explained. She felt it was a very thorough session with speed drills and jump drills. Will definitely be booking another session

Coach Robert did a great job at teaching specific running mechanics that may not have been taught at a basic level. He focused on improving the weaknesses he saw, which in my case was arm movement, while also using videos and drills to improve form. The practice was very productive and I can already feel myself improving.

I recommend Coach Robert. My son had a great session and learned valuable techniques to improve his 40 time. He worked the entire session, which was organized and balanced to ensure my son was engaged.

My son finished his first session and walked off the field with a smile! Coach Rob was informative, encouraging and enthusiastic. He explained the fundamentals of balance, speed, and technique, and kept my son engaged. We will definitely be signing up for more sessions.

Coach Marchetti is an excellent communicator and very skilled at suggesting modifications and adjustments which are easy to understand and apply. My daughter is a high school student and left her first session with him feeling comfortable, motivated, and equipped to apply the techniques and skills Coach recommended. We will be continuing our work with him over the coming months.

My Son had a great first session with Coach Robert and learned a lot from the start. Looking forward to more sessions. Thanks!

My first impression of Coach Robert was that he really cares. He’s warm and very easy going. My daughter immediately took to him. She left her first session feeling confident and excited for upcoming race. We will Definitely book another session with him. We hit a home run with finding him.
Thank you Coach Robert!!!!

Coach Robert has worked with my daughter a total of 6 times and each session has been more positive than the one before. He is extremely knowledgeable for training her both with her sprinting and jumping skills. After the first two sessions, Coach Robert showed Olivia the fundamental positions for her feet and body to help her improve. She felt noticeable improvements by her last session with him. His training sessions are packed with a mixture of skill and strength building activities that are designed to see the most results from his athletes. We are excited to continue working with Robert in the future!

First lesson with Robert was great! Learned so much more in just the first hour than I have in the three years I’ve been training. Def recommend!

Coach Robert is one of the most knowledgeable coaches I have ever trained with. After just a few sessions, I have learned so much about technique, speed, and the importance of mechanics. He does a great job at making sure all of his athletes get the proper rest included in their training program and will communicate with you throughout the entire practice. I am excited to continue my training with him as a professional track and field athlete and trust that his guidance will get me to the next level.

We were very impressed with Coach Robert and his approach to the initial sprints workout. He used a great combination of drills, focusing on technique and mechanics. The pace/tempo of the workout and variety of exercises were excellent. It was exactly what my son was looking to learn. We look forward to continuing training with Coach Robert and would highly recommend him.

Coach Robert really knows his stuff.

After completing one session with Coach Robert, my son feels confident that Coach Robert will be able to take him to the next level. The time spent was educational, physical and encouraging! Thank you!

Coach Robert is great. He is very professional and my son enjoys working with him. He is delightful to work with.

Our daughter couldn’t believe how much she learnt in just one session. She is looking forward to working with him again.

I can't say enough positive things about Coach Robert. My 16 year-old son had lost some of his zest for running and Coach Robert sparked his interest again for track My son said that Coach Robert motivated him and inspired him to push himself even harder. What he liked most of all was the way he gave feedback. If he did well he was praised but if he didn't do so well he still received praised for his effort and was told how to improve. Coach Robert's humor also helped to keep him focused. As a parent, I liked how quickly Coach Robert responded to emails / text and was flexible with scheduling. Thanks Coach Robert.

It's hard to find coaches who have the experience and skills to teach kids how to sprint with the proper form to maximize and improve their speed. Coach Robert has the ability to break down the start and the sprint into the various parts and explain why each is important. He also uses a good mix of drills and exercises to build muscle memory and strength in the right way.

We only had 3 sessions so far and are really happy with coach Robert, so happy that I think we will try to continue as long as we need and can. He has been working with my daughter on both shot put and discus throw and we are preparing for the spring season. He is very observant and focuses on each element, each move and slowly but firmly corrects my daughter technic of the throw. He is also very friendly and flexible! And committed! He will not only spend with you an hour during coaching but also text you in between sessions and send you some videos etc. I highly recommend coach Robert! He will build your athletes skills and confidence! The only regret is that we didn’t find him sooner because he would be a game change for winter season!

Coach Robert was a great coach. My son really enjoys the training and looking forward for another session!

Coach Marchetti is a great coach. He really takes his time with the athletes and makes sure he corrects any bad habits. His training will make you faster and stronger while you learn how to do things correctly. If you want to become a better athlete I definitely recommend Coach Marchetti to anyone!

Great first lesson. My son is working on his high jump. Already with Coach Robert correcting his form he has achieved a personal record.

My son is a thrower, and Coach Robert held three post-season sessions with him. He expanded on the work done with my son's high school coach, providing new techniques to improve his performance. They reviewed videos of professional throwers to model his form and repeatedly went through the necessary movements/positioning always ensuring that he understood what he had to do. As a result, my son is already feeling like he has improved. Between the refined techniques and some exercises Coach Robert gave him to do over the off season, he is looking forward to seeing what he can do next winter and spring. Outstanding Coach.

Coach Robert was great. I'm a Varsity High School runner looking to break my PR. Coach reviewed my form, technique and training schedule and gave me solid info. He was able to break down my arm and stride position and tweak them to increase my performance on my mid-distance and triple jump.

My daughter Courtney learned more from Coach Robert in 75 minutes than she did in one season of track.. He teaches as well as coaches! Courtney is excited to do another session with Coach!

The first practice with Robert was very helpful. I honestly learned more in one session than I did my whole time throwing with my Highschool coach. He takes the time to go over the basics and make sure your movement is fluid while explaining the reasons behind each action. Emphasis is made on technique over distance thrown.

Excellent coaching

Coach Robert gave my daughter the tips and advice she was looking for. She is a sprinter and a hurdler. Her expression was that Coach Robert taught her things that her high school coach has not. She felt that finally she was able to learn new things. Feeling at the same plateau as the other runners, she was looking for a challenge and that's what Coach Robert did for her. She's excited for her next sessions with him!
