18 years as an NCAA coach. Work with high school athletes and college athletes. From my experience as a Collegiate track coach working primarily with speed and power events, I have the experience and the formula for coaching athletes to run faster.

I was a multi-sport athlete in high school and college. I was a three-time All-American in track and field. I have work with athletes of different starting levels and different backgrounds. But the principles and fundamentals of sport works for all of them.

Please read the following completely as I have tried to elaborate on my methodology so clients know what to expect from me, and what I expect from them.

To run a faster 40....
There are no shortcuts or tricks. Its basic fundamentals. I don't use gimmicks and I don't make outlandish promises.

From my experience in working with sprinters on the Collegiate and Olympic developmental level, the best avenue to getting faster is learning to sprint BY SPRINTING. So, I focus on & teach the mechanics of running --through repetition. The mechanics of sprinting are the biggest influence on getting the most out of what the athlete already has.

Many people can run faster than they are running right now, just by cleaning up their efficiency. If you train with me you will Sprint, and you will learn how to sprint correctly. I do not do any long-distance running or trivial exercises. I don't use gadgets. We learn to Sprint specifically. We will focus on short Sprints down the straightaway which are specific to the 40-yard test. Mechanical proficiency does not happen overnight but takes a series of training sessions over time. This is how it works for us in track and field and it will work for you too.

As part of sessions that we do, I do administer exercises at the end which are specific to the training of the athlete and more important for injury preventative purposes. I ask for athletes to do one training day a week on their own and one training day a week with me. If they're willing to do one day on their own, and one day with me that's two days per week comittnent. So in a six to eight weeks time frame that's anywhere between 12 to 16 sessions. In my experience that is about the right amount of sessions for an athlete to make changes which are more permanent and positive. But note that the work must be very specific in quality.

It's hard to find coaches who have the experience and skills to teach kids how to sprint with the proper form to maximize and improve their speed. Coach Robert has the ability to break down the start and the sprint into the various parts and explain why each is important. He also uses a good mix of drills and exercises to build muscle memory and strength in the right way.

We only had 3 sessions so far and are really happy with coach Robert, so happy that I think we will try to continue as long as we need and can. He has been working with my daughter on both shot put and discus throw and we are preparing for the spring season. He is very observant and focuses on each element, each move and slowly but firmly corrects my daughter technic of the throw. He is also very friendly and flexible! And committed! He will not only spend with you an hour during coaching but also text you in between sessions and send you some videos etc. I highly recommend coach Robert! He will build your athletes skills and confidence! The only regret is that we didn’t find him sooner because he would be a game change for winter season!

My son is a thrower, and Coach Robert held three post-season sessions with him. He expanded on the work done with my son's high school coach, providing new techniques to improve his performance. They reviewed videos of professional throwers to model his form and repeatedly went through the necessary movements/positioning always ensuring that he understood what he had to do. As a result, my son is already feeling like he has improved. Coach Robert was great. I'm a Varsity High School runner looking to break my PR. Coach reviewed my form, technique and training schedule and gave me solid info. He was able to break down my arm and stride position and tweak them to increase my performance on my mid-distance and triple jump.

My daughter Courtney learned more from Coach Robert in 75 minutes than she did in one season of track.. He teaches as well as coaches! Courtney is excited to do another session with Coach!

The first practice with Robert was very helpful. I honestly learned more in one session than I did my whole time throwing with my Highschool coach. He takes the time to go over the basics and make sure your movement is fluid while explaining the reasons behind each action. Emphasis is made on technique over distance thrown.
