More About Coach Brooks

I am an avid runner myself. I have run 10 marathons, Boston 8 times the Marine Corps Marathon, The Eastern States Marathon and 1 UltraMarathon. I have done 20 Half-Marathons and too many 10ks and 5ks to count. I also ran track for a USTF track team for 4 years. My events were, 330m hurdles, 110m hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump, my alternate events, 1500m and 4x800.

I have coached people from age 10 to 45 in all aspects of running. I have coached Middle and High School Boys and Girls Cross Country/Track Teams. Currently, I Coach for a Beaufort Christian School X-Country/Track Team. I have coached people in a group setting and individual sessions, for races ranging from 5ks to UltraMarathons.

If long distance or competitive running isn’t your thing. I can use running as a tool to condition you for other sports, football, soccer, rugby, lacrosse. I have designed several training plans to help with footwork, agility, 0-40 speed and quick acceleration.

No matter your experience or sport, I can design a workout that will work for you. I would be Happy to help you achieve your next goal.

I ran the Boston Marathon 8 times. I am originally from Massachusetts, so you can see my obsession with Boston. I have won several 5ks, 10ks and half marathons through the years. I have run for several running clubs and have always placed within their top five competitors. Although I can’t sprint longer than one mile anymore, I still know the drills, the workouts and exercises needed to take someone to the next level.

I can coach anyone no matter their skill level or experience. However, if you are looking for someone to run a 2 hour 15 minute marathon with, I am not that guy. I can coach you to that point, I however, am not able to run that fast.

I have developed my own Couch to 5k plans, intermediate and experienced plans that we could utilize, or just develop your own personal plan. I thank you in advance for allowing me to train you. I know you will not only meet but surpass your personal goals. I hope I can be your coach so we can celebrate those goals and milestones together.

A Typical workout would be custom tailored to the individual, based upon data collected from my intake questionnaire and and 2 casual runs. I will observe breathing pattern, posture, stride and pace. From there we will outline your goals and milestones and create your custom package.

Since running is a sport with such a variance of margin, we could be training for a 5k or a Marathon, those two types of races require different lengths of workout plans. In both plans you can expect to have hill workouts, long run days, short run days, sprint workouts and even mile sprints in some cases. While other workout days might be based solely on core exercises.

A basic workout day would start off with a Dynamic Warmup, Stretch, Core work, Run, Cooldown Walk, Post Stretch/Post Analysis. Upon completion of a workout; I will use the last 10 minutes to verbally deconstruct our workout and add any important notes into the CoachUp app. Please review the app notes before our next session. I also require 2 Rest days in a 7 day workout program. I do have available days and times slotted but if you need to workout another day or time, book a session and I will try and make myself available.

If you are looking for training for Football or Soccer I have numerous drills designed to increase footwork movement, Lower 0-40 times and become faster all while having controlled footwork. Numerous soccer drills plus plenty of core strengthening exercises. If you want to get better on your team and become a better team player look no further for your coach. ****ALL PARENTS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO BE PRESENT FOR ALL TRAINING SESSIONS***

I encourage this, as your child will be given homework until our next session. Anything that parents would like me to work on specifically with their child please let me know.
