More About Coach Robert

I have been coaching runners for the better part of 10 years in everything from online training plans to in person running specific strength programs. I've worked with a number of high school athletes, but have coached a fair number of adult recreational runners as well. I have a personal training certification from ACSM as well as an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M in Applied Exercise Physiology. Whether you're wanting to tackle your first race, or take your running to the next level, I'll be able to work with you to achieve your goals.

I've been a runner for just about my whole life. I grew up running the local 5K's as a kid in north Texas, ran XC and track in high school, and competed in intercollegiate club level triathlon while in college. Since college, I've still been actively competing, moving mostly into the longer distance trail races and focusing most of my racing on desert, mountain, and ultra running.

There are a number of avenues a typical training session can take.

For those looking for running specific strength programs, a typical workout will start with an in depth set of mobility drills, light exercises, and some quick explosive movements before tackling whatever the goal for the day is, whether it be raw strength and explosiveness, balance and body awareness, mobility, or structural integrity.

For those looking for work with their running mechanics, a typical day starts with a bit of light running to warm up followed by a series of running specific mobility drills. Based on how an athlete looks running at different speeds and intensities, the remainder of the workout or program will break down the major biomechanical movements that need improving and focus specifically on those motions.

Online coaching is also offered for both strength programs and race training plans that will work backwards from an event date and be catered specifically to an athletes needs, abilities and schedule.
