As the slowest runner on the track team my freshman year in high school I consistently placed last in all my races. I weighed 96 pounds at the time and wasn’t planning on coming out for sports my sophomore year as it was humiliating. The cross country coach asked if I would join cross country and being a timid kid who was taught to follow teachers instructions, I reluctantly did. But I trained during the summer and became stronger and unknowingly faster; it just became easier to run without stopping. As the season started I was on varsity and have fallen in love with the sport of running ever since.
Competed in College Division II, and local Community College.
Traveled abroad to Australia to compete when I was in high school.

Our initial meeting is about evaluating your needs, goals and developing a plan for your success. We will do a light workout to evaluate form, coordination, and knowledge. This can be done 1 on 1 or through virtual meeting.

Typical Session:
Dynamic warm-up consisting of running and drills with General Strength and Mobility exercises.
Primary workout lasting from 15-45 minutes depending on the planned session.
Cool down stretch and prehab exercises.

Robert is a great running coach. When we met, he introduced himself and talked with my son about his running goals and what he hoped to get out of the training session. He took the time to listen and provide feedback on his style and helped him get in the right headspace. It was a good session and afterwards my son said it felt like it helped and wanted to d another session.

Coach Belo was very professional and engaging. He connected quickly to my 12-year-old son and provided helpful tips, stretches and drills. Excellency initial consultation. I believe we will continue to work with him in the future.

The first session went great as I expected. Coach Belo went in depth into the science of my running form and fundamentals. I’m looking forward to my next sessions.

Mr. Belo planned an excellent session for me that brought my running game to the next level. As someone who always struggled with running, Mr. Belo’s approach was easy for me to understand, effective, and gave me an immediate boost to my skill and confidence. Sometimes the answer is not in pushing harder and harder, but pushing in the right way. Mr. Belo explained running techniques and fundamentals in terms of body mechanics and the science behind it. Mr. Belo’s coaching on breath control, running form, and pacing will enable me to train smarter for long term success.

Mr. Belo was easy to work with and we arranged our training session without any hassle. I recommend Mr. Belo for anyone who needs/wants to work on improving their running fundamentals.

Coach Robert was very attentive to my needs as a runner and provided great advice. As a track and cross country coach, he knows what he’s talking about. Highly recommended.

Very happy with Coach Rob. The initial evaluation was thorough and my son said he could feel the difference in the mechanical improvements immediately. We will be back for more.

Just in the first meeting, Coach Robert was very encouraging and had a good sense for motivating my son who was at a low point in his running future.

Coach Robert is amazing! My daughter was coming back from an injury and he was able to coach her both mentally and physically so she could regain the confidence she needs to compete again. Coach Robert has given her the tools she needs to keep working towards her goals. The time he spent to get to know her personal story made a huge difference and we couldn’t be happier with her progress. Thanks so much coach!

Coach Robert was full of great advice and motivation for my 13 year old son, who is starting out in cross-country. Coach Robert pinpointed some particular areas of attention that, once addressed, could really enhance my son's performance and overall enjoyment of running. My son felt he learned a lot and it was time well-spent! I hope to book more sessions with Coach Robert in the future!

Robert was such a great find for us. My 13 year old son plays club soccer and needed some training on how to run efficiently to maximize his speed. He not only gave him the tools to immediately improve this, he was very motivational in his approach and my son walked away with confidence!

I had a great first training session with Coach Robert. I was nervous to go at first not knowing what to expect but I am glad I went. His step by step process made me realize how much potential I have as a distance runner and I look forward to working with him again.

Blake and I thoroughly enjoyed our first session with Coach Robert. Not only did he provide some great technical advice on the first session but he had some really great mental advice. The things that he and Blake worked on can be applied right away. Our takeaway was that Coach Robert work on developing the whole person in addition to the athlete. I am definitely looking forward to having Blake work with him this summer!

Robert was very helpful with writing up a solid workout plan based on my individual goals, right away I could tell just how knowledgable and passionate he is about his profession... highly recommended!

Coach Belo really helped me at my first session. He provides clear directions and explains why he wants me to do things. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of running from mechanics to psychology. I'm really looking forward to working with him.

Coach Robert is a great coach. When training the students he takes the time to explain why they are doing the exercises and what they should get out them. He is wonderful at giving positive feedback. My daughter really enjoys training with Coach Robert.

Coach Robert was talented, professional and inspirational - would recommend him highly!

Coach Robert was amazing! After just one session our sons running performance has already improved and he has prescribed us a series of exercises we do daily. Roberts approachability and encouraging style made all the difference for our 10 year old. Looking forward to continuing our work together!

Rob coached me in track at Saddleback College. He was one of the first coaches I had who really understood the mechanics of running and how to tailor workouts to the individual. With his guidance I was able to improve my times in both the 800 and 1500 meters and set the school's 1500 meter record which still stands 20 years later. Rob also took the time to give advice as far as approaching potential colleges for scholarships. I ended up not needing to approach any as I was offered a full-ride scholarship at a Division I school before the semester ended. Rob kept in touch over the years and when I was finished with my eligibility offered to coach me once again with 5k races over the next year. Coaching and running are truly his passions.
I have known Robert Belo for the better part of 25 years as an exceptional coach fully committed to bringing out the best in his athletes. Coach Belo has an innate ability to tap into his athlete’s motivation centers and draw out the remarkable. His athletes benefit from a very well-rounded coaching approach that utilizes current research and knowledge of sports physiology, mental training strategies, good old fashioned hard work, nutrition counseling, and a good balance of intensity and levity.
Coach Belo takes a holistic approach to coaching. All aspects of the mental and physical elements are considered. The point being to have all factors of a good performance to line up together on race day. His program is also designed based on what the athlete wants to accomplish, and more importantly when he will accomplish it, as to allow maximum performance at the right time. Continuous improvement is also a focus, where all elements of a performance are constantly revisited, until all positives and negatives are considered and improved upon. Coach Belo’s program is designed to help reach one's potential by implementing and accounting for all performance factors.
