More About Coach Riki

I have been teaching karate and self-defense both privately and for groups of children, and adults for over ten years.
I started helping out my Sensei (martial-arts teacher) in 2002 in both his children and adult classes. Then in 2005 I started my own class for children ages 6 to 13. In 2009 until 2011 I taught adults with special needs self-defense, healthy living and exercise. At the same time I coached children with special needs in group sports games, martial arts, self defense, and individual exercise. In 2012 I taught a short course in self-defense to battered and at-risk women. I've also taught 1-on-1 self-defense and martial arts mostly to teen-aged girls.
Enthusiastic and energetic, I strive to inspire a love of martial arts and motivate students to be the best that they can be. I am confident, passionate and enthusiastic about teaching people how to defend themselves and to grow physically, spiritually and mentally through martial-arts.

A second-degree black-belt in Tora-Dojo Karate (an eclectic mix of Japanese and Chinese martial-arts) , I am certified as a karate instructor in Israel. I have been a part of the martial-arts community almost my whole life.

I begin my classes with a dynamic warm up, then I will teach a specific basic move and how it's used and have my student practice in the air and hitting or defending blockers. Once my student gains a certain proficiency in the basics I will move on to different combinations of moves and practice them using various scenarios. I end my class with stretching, breathing and meditation. My goal is to build my student's confidence both physically and mentally not only in the realm of martial arts but that it spill over to all aspects of life.

She was great with my son. Evaluated his Karate and advised him to do better. She listened to him and was full of encouragement. If we ever move to Queens we will definitely be joining her dojo!

Very sincere, well experienced, focused and reliable.

Nice to start another year. I wouldn't choose anyone else.

And now after over 1.5 years, you are still the best!!! My son has now gotten his green belt. Just like yesterday he was a white belt. Thank you so much

I don't want to rate Riki because I am afraid that she will get too busy:) Riki has trained my 10 year old son now for 9 sessions and all I can say is Riki is the Best!!!
