I have coached organized track and field for the last 15 years in the San Francisco and East Bay Area. My experience ranges from one on one, youth AAU, Seniors and Workshops on Speed Development. I prefer a coaching style that prevents injury. Safety is my concern and peaking at the right time is of extreme importance. Instructing college and high school athletes on the fundamentals of running to include proper technique, stride frequency, power speed, and rapid arm motion. In the last 5 years I have Facilitated Sports Specific Training with lacrosse, soccer, baseball, football and cross country athletes at the college, middle and high School levels. In addition to Sports Specific Training I am a Executive Career Coach and share my vision and curriculum Life after Sports.

My accomplishments in high school are all league in the 100, 200, and 4x100 relay. In College my times in the 100 meters where 10.34 and 21.06 in the 200 meters. As a California high school state meet competitor I truly understand what competition is like at the state and national level.

I have been fortunate to have trained 43 All Americans at the High School and College level. My athletes perform when it counts by peaking at the right time and shocking the all competitors.

A training program has to be developed to meet the individual needs of the athlete and take into consideration many factors: gender, age, strengths, weaknesses, objectives, training facilities etc. As all athletes have different needs, a single program suitable for all athletes is not possible. The program supplied here is just an example and will require updates to meet your specific aims and objectives. The seasons training plan is based on six phases where each phase comprises of a repeated four week program. The workload in the first three weeks of the four week program increase each week (easy, medium, hard) and the fourth week comprises of active recovery and tests to monitor training progress.
The aim of the four week cycles is to:
• Build you up to a level of fitness (3 weeks)
•Test, recovery and adjustment of the training program (1 week)
•Build you up to higher level of fitness (3 weeks)
•Test, recovery and adjustment of the training program (1 week)
•Build you up to an even higher level of fitness (3 weeks)
• and so on

We are using Coach Rich to work on explosiveness and proper sprinting technique for my 11 year old son's use in youth soccer. My son (who is not easily impressed) had fun and wants to do more sessions. We started to see improvement in the first session. Additionally, Coach Rich is overwhelmingly positive and constantly giving feedback -- which kept my son engaged for the entire hour. He kept the drills interesting and varied to avoid boredom and uses the stopwatch to establish benchmarks and show improvement. We will use Coach Rich again.

Coach Rich is friendly and put my boys at ease immediately. I had a session with coach Rich at SFS at 10:00 today and it was great. I was at a high school football csmp 4 weeks ago and my 10 yard time was 1.35 and in 1 session coach Rich brought it down to 0.93! Rich is phenominal at what he does. If youre looking for a conditiong coach this is it.
