INTRODUCTION
The aim of this training is to give you an in-depth look at one of the outstanding Martial Arts programs of its kind. I will attempt to show its origin, its fundamentals and the elements from which they derive.

It is my objective to explain that there is more to the Martial arts then simple self-defense techniques and violence.

I will set down the basic principles of Hakko-ryu Jujitsu (secret of the eighth light system) and the art of Penjek Silat, with the course of actions to be followed if one is to attain proficiency in them.

To all new students,

Thank you for considering the Martial Arts Discovery course as your path in Martial arts training and personal development.

This course is developed on the founding elements of Jujitsu and Silat. On this path one will encounter receiving
Discipline in receiving training (Etiquette)
Break falls and Rolls
Throws, Escapes, and Controls
Kicking, Punching, Blocking
Pivots, Angles, and Position training
For those receiving proficiency in these areas of study, black belts can be attained.

We have developed a Phase I, Phase II course that allows the beginner and novice practitioner, to receive expert self-defense applications, which fit the needs associated with the 21st century.
Advanced training of principles and concepts in a 4-6 week course, developed for effectiveness in today’s society.

The art of Silat is offered to those accepted, either during or ending the formal course of training at the Martial arts discovery academy.

The word Silat comes from the combining of two words; first (Sifat) which means characteristic or attribute, the second (Kilat), which means lighting. The term therefore implies a state or condition that one reaches because they have received instructions. To understand the nature of this type of instruction is to realize what the focus is; that is to say, that Silat is a course in awareness, which binds that quality to the knowledge of what needs to be done, to the talent of doing it. Of the many countless ways in which to receive Silat, the following are but four ways that Silat may be understood. The first is “dasar” which means, elements. The second is called “pencak” which means binding the elements into various actions. The third is called Bunga bunga or Kembangan which means flowers. This actually implies improvisation freedom, and the fourth is the “filling”, where two people encounter themselves as well as each other, without this stage Silat would not be Silat, during this stage one has gained in substantiality; one has more than the appearance of Silat – the two aspects of form and content are becoming one.

This particular course in Silat is not therefore just physical exercise. From the beginning, Silat training approaches the spiritual, psychological and physical dimensions, which are one with the course of instruction.
