More About Coach Rex

I moved back to my home town of Marietta in 1996. I met several kickers from my Alma mater that were dissatisfied with their experiences at summer camps. They complained of too many kickers and not enough personal instruction. That same summer I began working with kickers in small groups and 1-on-1 private training. I was a volunteer community coach at Marietta HS for 5+ years and have continued working with young kickers and punters from age 12 and up. I have had many kickers go on to play in college. I have approximately 7 kickers competing on that level in 2013.

I am originally from Marietta, Georgia and was a placekicker and punter at Marietta High School. Upon graduation, I went on to be a four year starter at The University of Georgia. I was selected 1st Team All-SEC Placekicker in 1978, 1979 and 1980. In addition, I was a Playboy Pre-Season All-American in 1979 and 1980. I made 5 All-American teams after the 1980 season. The University of Georgia won the 1980 National Championship after beating Notre Dame in the 1981 Sugar Bowl.

I have been coaching for over 17 years and have had many kickers go on to play on the collegiate level. I generally work with kickers ages 12 and up, focusing on fundamentals and developing both short and long term goals.

I operate under the name TOTAL KICKER, because I believe in covering all aspects of athletic growth including weight training, flexibility training and mental focus.

Although I do believe kicking camps are a valuable part of the process, nothing compares to 1-on-1 coaching. I generally work with kickers in a series of 3 sessions spread over several weeks or months. Many of my more serious clients work with me year round. Once a month is generally sufficient to maintain their skills and we focus more on getting stronger during the off-season. For those that aspire to kick in college, we also work kicking off the ground at this time.

Client Reviews

Are you looking for a private kicking coach? If so I would recommend Rex Robinson. He has worked with several of our kickers before with very good results.
I wanted you to know that Jake made the team at USC. We sincerely appreciate everything you did to help him and we'll never forget that....Your guidance really helped him get there.
