More About Coach Reggie

I am certified personal trainer and sports performance coach through NASM. I plan getting my CSCS (strength and conditioning industry leading certification by the NSCA) certification during the summer. So far, I have been a trainer for three years at a commercial gym and one year at a corporate site. The range of clients I have are endless. I have athletes, average gym goers, elderly, post-rehab, and weight-loss. My client's ages range from 6 years old to 80 years old.

In terms of athletic accomplishments, I played varsity basketball for 2 years. On my off time, I did play tennis and soccer. I didn’t compete at the collegiate level (University of the Pacific) but I did play recreationally where I led my team in scoring every year. I specialize in shooting, either off the dribble or catch and shoot. In my first two years of college, my partner and I won a shooting competition, and were invited to the Big West Shooting Competition where the winners of the schools in our conference were invited to compete. We placed 3rd of 9th.

In the first session, I will evaluate the individual’s skills pertaining to the sport and athletic performance by doing a series of tests. Each individual I train is unique so I won’t start with each individual with the same training regimen. If the individual needs more work on a certain skill i.e. dribbling or athletic ability i.e. vertical jump, I will focus more on that skill until the individual is sufficient enough. That doesn’t mean I will ignore other areas of performance. I will find a way to develop the athlete as a whole to become the most complete player.
