More About Coach Ramsey

I have been a certified Strength/Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA since 1993. Currently a certified sports nutritionist with the ISSN. I have worked athletes from the High School level to the Professional level sports such as Golf, Track/Field, Football, BasketBall, Tennis and Baseball. Notable athletes include: Dallas, Cowboys, Joshua Johnson (Pro-Sprtinters) Tennis Mac/King Roy (top 30 rank USTA boys) and collegiate athletes at Southern Methodist University. I understand all sports demands and know how to train for them from a general conditioning level to specificity of sport.

Training session begins with; warm up 10-15 light cardio followed by conditioning drills specific to the sports, follow by strength training specific for strength and sport the session generally ends w/ stretching.

My abilities extend beyond the 'knowledge' of strength/conditioning, for example i make specific eating/nutritional plans, and proper supplementation.

Finally I have a good ability to MOTIVATE athletes by communicating and inspiring them to train. I can bring out the best in most athletes!

I have been a competitive athlete my entire career as a Bodybuilder, Powerlifter, and a track sprinter. Currently I also compete as national level Billiard Pool Player.

A beginning session with a client always by first addressing his goals and his current physical status ( training level/conditioning) and asking for any injury or limitations he/she may propose. The sessions are designed based on what his/her goal is; strength, endurance, power as needed by the respected sport. Workouts are generally a progression of basic strength exercises followed by specific exercises for the sport.
The strength training model used is called Peridization Model for strength , scientifically we know this is the best model used for long term strength gains and reducing the risk of injury.

Client Reviews

I came to Mr. Rodriguez by a referral I had been injuring myself while trying to increase my strength and muscular development. Coach Rodriguez has help me improve my form, and reduced my injury problems by showing me how stretch the muscles associated w/ my low back problem and helped me gain 15 lbs of muscle in only 8 weeks!
Coach Rodriguez has not only help me develop my athletic ability for Tennis, but has helped me with his nutritional expertise. Lastly just recently he help me identify a rorator cuff problem that I did not know I had- Now I have more confidence for my Tennis season in the Big 10 Conference (Michigan State Spartans).
