More About Coach Raishard

After finishing my football career I returned back to New Brunswick, NJ and started coaching high school football at New Brunswick High school. While doing that I started a training program where I was trained by Rutgers Universities football strength and conditioning coach where I learned the basics of working different muscle groups as well as plyometrics and other important forms of speed, strength and conditioning. I continued to coach basketball and football after returning back home to Richmond, VA at different programs from little league to high school. I am now living in Douglasville Georgia right outside of Atlanta, GA where I train athletes in both football and basketball 3-5 days per week.

I was an all conference and all state football player in high school where I played linebacker/defensive end and hold a couple of records at my school for the most tackles in a single game (26). I was offered 25 scholarship offers both division1, 1AA, and division II. I chose Rutgers University in the Big East conference and now B1G10 conference where I lettered three years and started 4 games my freshman year. I went on to getting significant playing time the next three years where I was awarded player of the week two different times. I was able to compete competitively on the pro level where I tried out and made practice squads and finally chose to retire due to my neck injury.
In high school I competed strongly on our basketball team where I was awarded most rebounds two years straight and offered a few Division II scholarships but chose football over basketball.

A typical training session with me starts with quick feet movement and exercises such as jumping jacks, high knees, back peddles at 1/4 speed and jump roping. These exercises I do first in is to warm up the muscles as well as get the blood flowing in the athlete’s muscles. Being that you never want to stretch a cold muscle these exercises are used to get the athlete prepared for proper stretching before training.
From there I have the athlete do more high knees for about 10 yards and then burst into a 10-yard Sprint followed by shuffles as well as back pedals that end with a 10-yard burst and sprint. From there we normally discuss game situations that may have occurred during the athlete’s previous performance in a game to answer any questions they may have. Being that each one of my athlete’s receives an individualized training plan we focus on a strength or a weakness to enhance it such as technique and or consistency.
I focus on repetition being important along with technique to enhance muscle memory that allows them to perfect aircraft and their position. From their specific position exercises or drills are done such as jump cuts for running back, hand placement for defensive lineman or stance for an offensive lineman. We go through one on one’s if other athletes are available or I compete with them myself to enhance their competitiveness. Because I train new athletes to sports as well as veterans in their sports every athlete’s session is different than the next.
During off-season training towards the end of our training session which lasts for an hour we normally work on endurance which may involve a hit workout, or some form of Sprint's that would enhance endurance, speed and decrease fatigue early during competition. At the very end of the session I emphasize the Importance of being hydrated as well as replacing what they have lost through drinks that will put electrolytes back in their bodies such as Gatorade and or Powerade or other drinks that will assist with that while cooling down with a light stretch to make sure the athlete is okay and functioning the same as when they came to their training session.

Coach Raishard is the truth. He is the game changer. In just one session, my son's confidence and performance have increased. He's one of the best coaches out there. You will not be disappointed.

A outstanding trainer. Works great with my kid.

Excellent Coach! Very hands on! Teaches them to be responsible and accountable for themselves. Teaches the fundamentals. This is my son’s first year playing football and I know he has it in him but I needed someone to bring the confidence out of him. Coach is awesome! Definitely recommend!

Our first session was great! Looking forward to working Coach Raishard in fine tuning my student athlete in a number of areas.

Coach Raishard is awesome! My son said, “Mommy, I really like this Coach”! I can feel his excitement to want to do better and perfect his craft with sports in working one-on-one with Coach Raishard! He’s also very transparent and speaks to me about progress and the overall training experience each session. Thank you!

Coach Raishard was amazing with my son. My son felt more confident after just one lesson! He took the time to get to my sons level and listen to him and was able to get an understanding from my son about what he knew and needed to learn about football. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a young athlete!

Our experience was awesome. Coach Crawford is so passionate about helping the children. My son soaked everything up like a sponge. It was fun watching him teach him. Normally coaches aren't able to do the work, but Coach Crawford is out there planking and doing push up and sit ups just like the kids!! We really enjoyed the video that he sent after the session. It really makes his business stand out from the other trainers in the area. The video was very professional with music and graphics. Like a commercial. Great job Coach Crawford!!!! We look forward to working with you each week.
Coach Crawford is very thorough with finding what the athlete needs to work on in the beginning and then brings it into focus on players position. From the first day my son seemed more interested in the sport he plays. He is always ready to go to training and wants to show coach Crawford he is working and learning and doing well.
