More About Coach Phillip
I obtained my bachelors degree in kinesiology-sports adminstration from the University of Houston. I have trained athletes at Legends Sports Complex for three years and I also have experience working with NFL strength coaches and trainers. I typically work with athletes ranging from the ages 7 to young adults. I have a great passion to empower our youth to be strong mentally, while sharpening their skills physically.
While playing at the University of Houston I received multiple honors including Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. After Playing in college I went to play in the CFL. After spending 2 years with the Winnipeg Bluebombers I was able to amass 24 quarterback sacks including a league leading 18 sacks in 2010. In 2011 I signed a 3 year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles where I was able to contribute on a defensive line that led the NFL in sacks. After playing for the Eagles I went on to play for the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.
Workout sessions typically consist of a dynamic warm-up, strength phase and performance phase. The dynamic warmup will be used to get our athletes' muscles activated and their minds focused on the task at hand. The strength phase while consist of weight training for athletes of age and or any muscle building exercises we have planned for that particular session. The performance phase will consist of drills that enhance speed, quickness, explosive power as well as cardiovascular endurance. After the performance phase the session will conclude with a short cool down consisting of stretching and rolling. These sessions will be tailored toward each individual and whatever role they play in their sport.
