More About Coach Paige
My formal experience involves coaching at Spruce Creek Running and Fitness Club for 2 years where I worked with younger athletes in small group settings. I often specialized in hurdle sessions, but I also engaged with other groups from short sprinters up to distance runners. Additionally, I was a coach for 3 years at an MIT running club working with elementary-aged athletes. As a former collegiate athlete, I constantly use my experience to design workouts for both myself and others wishing to improve any aspect of their running, whether it be speed, endurance, form, etc.
Track and field athlete from MIT (2020-2024). 4 x All American- 400m hurdles, 4x400m relay (x2), and Distance Medley Relay. School record holder in 400m hurdles hurdles and the 4x400m relay.
A session will begin with a workout-specific warmup- a longer warmup with more drills and focus on technique for shorter/faster speed and acceleration sessions or a shorter, less intensive warmup for longer/endurance-based workouts. A speed or hurdling technique workout will consist of short repetitions with technical feedback and full recovery rest. An endurance workout will consist of longer repetitions and less rest with an emphasis on consistency. A session will conclude with a cooldown tailored to the specific workout, such as a brief jog, stretching, hip mobility, sand walking, etc.
