More About Coach Nicole
I have over 15 years of experience coaching track and field and cross country, with more than 10 years as a head coach. I have coached at the high school level, where I have led teams in cross country, winter track, and spring track. My coaching background spans all areas of track and field, with a particular focus on distance runners, hurdlers, and sprinters.
I typically work with athletes ranging from middle school through high school, though I have also been involved in youth development programs and summer camps for younger athletes. My coaching approach emphasizes technical development, event-specific training, and long-term athlete growth.
I am a USATF Level 1 certified coach and also hold certifications through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), including coursework in sport safety, athlete development, and event-specific training techniques.
I competed at Loyola University Maryland as a middle-distance runner and hurdler, participating in both cross country and track and field. While I had a strong collegiate experience as a student-athlete, the greatest accomplishments of my career have come through coaching.
As a high school coach, I’ve had the privilege of developing multiple All-Americans and national championship relay teams. Most notably, I coached the current indoor national record-holding Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to athlete development and have shaped my coaching approach at every level.
Each session focuses on proper training techniques, starting with a dynamic warm up and event specific drills that promote good mechanics mobility and injury prevention. Workouts emphasize correct pacing and race strategy tailored to the athlete’s event. I also incorporate season planning to ensure steady progress and peak performance. Athletes receive focused feedback and purposeful training designed to help them reach their goals.
