More About Coach Michelle

I am a certified RRCA coach, as well as NASM/AAFA certified Group Ex Instructor with experience in training runners from their first 5k to marathon distance. I do a group fun runs as well as more focused individualized track workouts for all levels. I have worked with adults of all ages and skill levels! I am currently training a friend to run her first half marathon this fall as well as training an experienced runner to hit a PR for the NY Marathon in November. Both clients have my personalized on-line programming, as well as weekly sessions/check-ins. I try and give away to my clients the joy I get from running; to me to share that is the most important thing. I have designed several online programs that fit the needs of each individual. Many of my one-on-one clients are beginning runners; I have coached clients to run their first 5K distance and the joy we BOTH get from this accomplishment is immense!

I ran the New York City Marathon in November of 2015, which was my 3rd marathon. (I also hit a personal record by an hour!). I placed 2nd in my age division in 2013 in the Pete McArdle Cross Country Classic (15K) here in NY! I have ran over two dozen half marathons. I love running; it will always be a huge part of my life and I'd like to share that love with others.

My session would really depend on what goal the client was trying to achieve. For beginners who are looking to run their first 5k, I would begin the session with dynamic stretches and we may do a 20-30 minute run/walk at a conversational pace. For an intermediate/advanced runner who is looking to reach a new goal in their running, I would encourage a speed/hill workout which would involve running form drills, strides, interval-speed work followed by a cool-down and running specific strengthening exercises.

We only had one session so far due to rainy spring weather, but so far, my son loves Coach Michelle! He is 13 and autistic, and very out of shape, and she is very good with him. She was upbeat and very clever in the ways she was able to engage and motivate him to stretch out and run. We are looking forward to continuing to work with her. She is incredible!

Coach Michelle is absolutely wonderful. I've been working with her for about a month doing in-person sessions and online training, and already notice major changes in my strength and form. She is extremely knowledgeable and motivating, and does a great job of giving constructive feedback while still being positive and encouraging.
