More About Coach Michael

I have been involved with the sport of swimming for 20 years. I started swimming when I was 6 years old and continued to do so through a successful college career as a national qualifier and school multi-record holder.

I have been coaching for the past 4 years at many stages of the coaching spectrum from "learn to swim" to national qualifiers. I recently relocated to California from New York. Prior to the move I was the head coach for STAR Swimming's Red Team(ages 5-12) and Head Coach of the undefeated Nardin Gators High School swim team in Buffalo, NY.

It's crucial for new swimmers to be comfortable with both the coach, the water, and any other swimmers around them. That is why the environment is one of my primary concerns. I want the kids to want to come to practice and I love taking that responsibility. Once they're having fun, you can teach them anything.

A typical session with me will differ based on the age and potential of the swimmer. Once we have that figured out, we can get started. But, here is the thing... It will be fun. I like to focus on stroke technique and progression. I have a very interesting way of doing drills... I do them when you're tired. If you can drill correctly when you're tired, you can do the same when it gets to competitive swimming.

Client Reviews

Mike has been extremely helpful in developing my daughter's swimming technique. My daughter swims with much more confidence every day. I strongly recommend Mike's training sessions to anyone interested in swimming or looking to improve and take their swim to the next level.
