More About Coach Michael
I bring a wide range of experience to the personal trainer profession and have practically been involved in athletics my whole life. I am presently finishing my fourth year as a high school football coach, but I also have experience at the collegiate level, working on the football staff at Florida State University and Wake Forest University. This experience has allowed me to be up to date with the latest and most effective training methods. My grandfather was Bobby Bowden, Head Football Coach at Florida State University and my uncles were both successful college football head coaches. Tommy Bowden at Clemson University and Terry Bowden at Auburn University. I have a strong passion and wealth of experience in being around elite athletes. I have watched them be trained by the best strength and conditioning coaches in the country and am now in a position to pass this knowledge to you. I would love to have the opportunity to personally train you and help you reach your maximum potential.
I participated in Olympic weight meets at the 1A Florida High School State Weightlifting Championship. I played football for 9 years and was a starting Line Backer for a 6A football program that went to the quarterfinals in the 6A division in Florida.
During a typical session with me, clients can expect a well-structured and personalized training experience aimed at helping them achieve their fitness and athletic goals centered around football. I have a personalized approach with the focus on creating a relationship where the client fully trusts my judgement and opinions on drills and exercises I give them. I start by conducting a thorough assessment to understand the client's fitness level, their goals, and any specific concerns or limitations they might have. This assessment helps me create a customized workout plan that can optimize their full potential on the football field. We will always begin with a dynamic warm-up and mobility routine to increase blood flow, flexibility, and reduce the risk of injuries. I plan to work with athletes who have a very rudimentary understanding of running techniques and football movements. I will also be explaining muscle groups each warm-up exercise is focused on so my clients can learn how to do simple movements on their own. The main workout portion is where we target the client's goals. After looking at the preliminary tests, and depending on the position the kid is or wants to play, I will design a workout that will focus on their weaknesses. I will help them understand what drills work what muscle groups and how that will correlate to better results on the field. For example, If it's agility and speed, we'll incorporate ladder drills, bag drills, and cone drills that focus on acceleration, change of direction and balance. Progressive training is a core principle of my approach. As clients become more proficient with their movements and develop a better understanding of why we're running specific drills, I will continuously challenge them by adding new exercises or increasing variables in drills that require them to use more sensors in a fast-paced environment. Throughout the session, I encourage clients to ask questions and provide feedback. It's important to me that they feel comfortable and informed about their progress. After the intense workout, we will focus on a short cool-down phase that includes stretching and breathing exercises. This helps with recovery and minimizes post-workout muscle soreness. A typical session lasts approximately one hour, but this can vary based on individual goals and fitness levels. For optimal results, clients often train with me two to three times a week, although this can be adjusted as needed.
