More About Coach Melissa
I have over 8 years of coaching experience, primarily in soccer, and hold a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology along with a CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. My coaching journey has taken me to the United States, Iceland, and Australia, working with athletes from youth to professionals. I specialize in ACL rehabilitation and return to play, with a focus on high school to college-level athletes.
I've played professional soccer overseas for 4 years, with collegiate soccer experience at Cal Poly Pomona. My international career has taken me to Australia, Albania, and Iceland, where I achieved notable milestones such as breaking club records in Australia and competing in the Women's Champions League in Albania. In Iceland, I contributed to my team's promotion to the first division and its historic stay in the top division.
The basic outline of a session would be 15 min of warmup (mobility, activation, technique), 40-45 min of training, 5 min cool down. I usually perform a questionnaire/movement assessment so I am able to tailor the session to what the athlete's goals are and address their needs based on the assessment.
