Favorite quotes:

"If you go through all the pain staking effort it takes to become a good hitter, those are life skills you will never forget." Doug Latta

"Baseball is 95% physical, and only 5% mental. However, the 5% mental controls the 95% physical" - Nate Trosky

"Hitting is simple, it's just not that easy" - Kevin Wilson

Hitting:
Hitters hit in an open skilled environment. We are reacting. What gives us the ability to react is TIMING and VISION. I teach balance in the body, a strong platform to hit from and hand path. We need to get to a strong hitting position, and we need a swing that can cover multiple pitches in multiple zones.

Balance in the body will equate to better timing and vision, and a more efficient barrel path will lead to more effective contact.

When you keep things simple hitters are able to self-diagnose, self correct, and truly own their swing. They're able to become their own hitting coach - something far more important than "perfect mechanics"

I challenge my hitters every session to compete and push themselves. Whether your goal is to play college baseball/pro ball, or just learn the game and have fun, my goal with every hitter I work with is to maximize their potential.

Defense:
Infield training will consist of the following:
1. Proper prep step timing
2. Launch position (no different than the launch position of a hitter)
3. Footwork
4. Creating proper angles
5. Reading hops
6. Repeatable arm slot / throwing from different angles
7. Situational defense

My lessons are simple, fun and build tremendous confidence for each of my players.

My Son definitely enjoyed the session with Coach. He learned a lot and we will definitely book him again!

Coach Matthew was excellent. He saw my son's batting problems right away and was able to make a few corrections that enabled him to consistently hit to the far outfield. Can't wait for our next session!

Great session!

i can only hope my son is as focused learning as coach Matt was in teaching. Very satisfied with what i saw. 2 big thumbs up.

Coach Matt is a great hitting instructor. He helped my son get on path to the ball better and solve some issues he’s been having with his swing. I would highly recommend hiring him for hitting lessons.

After just 1 lesson I can tell Coach Matt will make a big difference with my 12 year old’s confidence and overall presence at the plate. He’s already looking forward to the next lesson!

Matt is energetic, great at providing instruction, and patient with kids! My son asks when he can see Coach Matt again, which is always a good sign!

Coach Matthew is an excellent baseball trainer, teacher, and motivator. His sessions are very much centered around building strong fundamentals, conditioning, and establishing good technique. My son really enjoyed working with Coach Matthew and is really looking forward to future sessions. I highly recommend Coach Matthew!

Amos says Coach Matt really helped him bat better, throw the ball more accurately, and be a better baseball player. Grandpa Wayne compliments Matt on his patient approach and friendliness towards Amos and his positive feedback during the the sessions--the slowing down philosophy will be incorporated into a variety of his activities in the future.

Taught my 12 year old adjustments to his swing in under 90mins!!! Great coach my son loves him

We’ve had two sessions with Matt. He listened, analyzed and worked to correct the issues we brought to the table in a step by step manner that was easy to understand and produced immediate results.

Matthew has been a great coach for my son. My son really looks forward to his time with Coach Matthew and his hitting and fielding has improved. Coach Matthew gives helpful tips of things to do at home so my son can always work on his skills.

Coach Matt did an amazing job working with my 10 year old. Worked on balance and property batting/swing stances. Great 1 on 1 coaching that Landyn understands and brings home to practice drills. We will be signing up for more to continue his development.

Excellent coach. Matthew worked with my 9 & 12 year olds on infield and outfield in the off season. They both really liked his style which was disciplined but encouraging. Both felt that the skills they learned improved their performance in their next season.

Matt has been so great!

Coach Matthew did a really great job with my son during his first training session. My son really enjoyed him and can't wait to go back. I would recommend Coach Matthew.

Coach Fritz has been one of the best private coaches my son has worked with. He is a relatable coach who teaches in a way that our 15 year old understands. He never talks “at” him. Coach Fritz has an easy manner with our son, gaining his trust, while keeping his coach/player relationship. Our son’s confidence has grown tremendously, along with his knowledge, and technical skills. He makes the workouts fun and interesting. Finding a coach who shows a true interest in helping our son achieve his goals has been such a gift!

Matt is an awesome coach. He is very patient and knowledgeable about the sport. I highly recommend him.

I've had the privilege of coaching alongside Coach Fritz for the past four years, including this year when he was my assistant coach. He has a great understanding and feel for the game of baseball. His understanding of the hitting sequence and intricacies of the swing are second to none. His methods and instruction are some of the best and most practical I've seen.
