I'm a certified yoga and meditation teacher, at the highest level 500 hours. I have been teaching for 17 years and practicing for 19 years. I'm passionate about what I do and to share my knowledge of yoga and meditation.
I believe the practice serves the practitioner so serve all levels of students where they presently are. Regardless of why you begin or continue a practice, you get all the benefits. I have a very athletic practice, but don't force that on my students. Developing a meditation practice makes life so sweet, but I don't force that on students either. It's a free country after all! There will always be a final relaxation pose that touches on the benefits of a stillness practice.
In working with me you will increase your muscle mass, decrease your percentage of body fat, increase your ability to handle stress, increase your flexibility and increase your balance. The goal of yoga isn't to become a different person. It's to become more you and more comfortable in your own skin.
I ran my own yoga studios in NY for 15 years. I moved back to the city so am now available for private sessions here. I still travel up to Westchester 2x a week to teach group classes and to accommodate my private students there. I work with corporate clients 2x a week at a place in White Plains NY. I have been working with them for 7 years. Through the years I have worked with cancer patients, those effected by post traumatic stress and patients post heart surgery.
I have helped so many students over the years with overcoming chronic pain, grieving from loss, reducing stress, increasing flexibility, fighting aging process, strengthening focus, weight loss, etc.
My session plans vary as each individuals needs vary. I start at the beginning or pick up where the student is at & proceed to undo the residual effects of stress, build strength, flexibility, balance & focus. I leave my students with the skills they need in life. O.K., sometimes with muscle soreness, but nothing other than the necessary, temporary effects of building strength & increasing range of motion.
