More About Coach Marlie
I coached track and field at a high school in South Jersey for 5 years. I specialize in the throwing events (shot put, javelin, and discus). The high school is Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, NJ. I worked as a personal trainer for 5 years. I began my career at Retro Fitness in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Then, I moved to a more personal setting working as a Fitness Manager and Group/Personal Fitness Trainer. I have experience with a large range of ages. I worked with high school athletes. I also worked with senior citizens and people living with Parkinson's disease.
I exceled in track and field in high school. I placed in numerous state-level competition. In college, I played rugby and was nominated as an All-American my senior year. I even auditioned for the Under 20 rugby national team.
I always start my athletes with a warm-up. We next move into dynamic stretching. At this point, I feel like the client is ready to exercise. I like to do circuits with my clients, usually, a rotation between 3 exercises repeated 3-4 times. I adjust the intensity and difficulty of the exercises depending on the client's fitness level. I like to introduce new exercises to make clients. So every session, they can expect something different.
