More About Coach Mahy

Elite swimming is my background, bringing 6 years of high-level competitive club training and a 3-star rating as a registered athlete with the Egyptian swimming federation. My training required swimming 3.5 to 5 kilometers a day, which gave me an expert understanding of water safety and stroke mechanics.I use this international athletic background to work as a private, independent coach. I provide one-on-one lessons at residential and private community pools.I coach at the beginner and intermediate levels. I typically work with both kids and adults who want to learn how to swim or improve their technique. While I do not currently hold US industry certifications, my years of elite training and independent teaching experience allow me to coach proper swimming form and safety with high precision.

My primary athletic accomplishment is earning an official 3-star swimmer rating and being registered with the Egyptian swimming federation. While I did not compete at the US collegiate level, I competed at the elite club level in Egypt. My major daily accomplishment during those 6 years was consistently maintaining an elite training load, swimming between 3.5 to 5 kilometers every single day, six days a week.I competed in regional and club-level swimming championships across Egypt. My primary honors include my official federation ranking and the high-level discipline required to successfully train alongside top-tier national athletes for over half a decade.

During a typical session, clients can expect a high-energy, customized lesson focused entirely on visual learning and personal water comfort. I use a strict 'show, don't tell' coaching style, meaning I physically demonstrate every movement on the pool deck first so students can easily mirror my form in the water. My sessions focus heavily on foundational drills: breath control, survival floating, body alignment, and proper freestyle stroke mechanics. I break complex swimming movements down into short, punchy visual cues that keep the student focused and engaged.A typical 60-minute session is run in three distinct blocks:The Warm-Up (10 Mins): We start with water acclimatization and basic breathing drills (like blowing bubbles) to build confidence and relax the muscles. The Core Drill Block (35 Mins): This is where we do the heavy technical work. I introduce a specific skill using visual drills—such as kicking with a kickboard for lower body power or practicing streamlined body positioning along the wall. My structural goal is always to have a new student comfortably floating by the first session and moving across the water safely by the third. The Conditioning & Warm-Down (15 Mins): We put the day's drills into practical motion with continuous short laps, followed by a gentle warm-down to review what we learned and build muscle memory. Every session is designed to make the client feel completely safe while making rapid, measurable progress.
