More About Coach Maggie

Maggie has spent years on and off the track coaching athletes across goals and sports. Through 1:1 training and volunteer coaching women's teams and girls' youth programs, Maggie has worked with a variety of female athletes to take a holistic approach to training as a certified personal trainer and nutritionist.

As a lifelong, multi-sport athlete and former nationally ranked D3 collegiate runner at Washington and Lee University (specializing in the 800-5k), Maggie has experience training across the spectrum of fitness and health-centric goals and performance-based training. Since graduating, Maggie has focused on longer distances from 5k to half marathons, with tailored programming to reduce risk of injury and enhance performance.

Maggie's training philosophy is to take a holistic, fine tuned approach, specific to each athlete and their needs and goals. Typical programs begin with a kickoff session to understand the athlete's goals and history, as a starting point for crafting a training plan that is well suited to the athlete's starting place and lifestyle. All programs will be crafted as a part of a macro view of the athlete's goals, and will cycle volume and exercise to promote performance and recovery. While weekly sessions will be primarily focused on running workouts (e.g., intervals, tempo, fartleks), programs will can include recommendations on weekly endurance training and cross training, lifting, stability and maintenance training, and nutrition to further support performance improvement.

Maggie believes that fitness and training are most beneficial when the athlete is able to adopt changes as a lifestyle, and learn foundational health and fitness concepts as part of the journey!
