More About Coach Madison
Madison teaches all ages and stages. She enjoys everything from sharing the gift of dance with beginners to equipping pre-professional dancers with the skill, knowledge, and artistic insight in order to reach their fullest potential. Madison first began instructing dancers as a Teacher Assistant at Houston Ballet Academy. Since then, she has taught at a number of studios and academies. She primarily teaches ballet (technique), pointe, variations, and pas de deux. She also has extensive experience choreographing, coaching tumbling/gymnastics for dance, and cross-training dancers (for improved strength, flexibility, and control). She is a USAGymnastics certified Instructor and has worked as a Dance Coach at Dominique Moceanu Summer Gymnastics Camp (Ohio) and World Champions Centre (Texas).
Madison is a Principal Dancer with the Inland Pacific Ballet. Formerly, she danced with Houston Ballet (Corps de Ballet) and Anaheim Ballet. She has been a member of the American Guild for Musical Artists (AGMA) since 2010 and is a also SAG-eligible performer with experience in commercial dance.
Madison was a competitive gymnast before joining the world of ballet. Throughout her gymnastics career, her coaches included four different former Olympians and Alexander Alexandrov (head coach of the Russian Women's Artistic Gymnastics team for multiple Olympic games). Madison's focus turned to ballet upon being accepted into Houston Ballet Academy at age 13. She progressed through the levels of the academy and was offered a position with Houston Ballet II. She trained, danced, and toured as a member of Houston Ballet II from 2008-2010. During her time with Houston Ballet II, Madison was honored with two awards from Houston Ballet Academy and ultimately a contract with Houston Ballet. She was also recognized nationally when she was invited to attend YoungArts Week 2010 as a Finalist through the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA). Upon attending and performing, she was awarded a Level 2 grant by the national foundation.
While her primary home is the stage, Madison is also a SAG-eligible performing artist with experience in commercial dance and modeling (I.e. modeling for Discount Dance and performing in the 2014 Video Music Awards). Madison has also appeared in a number of national and local publications (i.e. Dance Magazine, Pointe Magazine, Arts & Culture Texas, Dance Advantage).
Madison tailors sessions to suit the development and goals of each dancer or athlete. There are a couple different types of sessions available depending on the student's goals:
(1) Specific Goals: Sometimes a dancer desires to refine a variation, solo, or routine. In these sessions, we will focus on the given choreography and how to improve the various sections and skills within it. Other times a student has a particular skill they desire to improve (i.e. jumps, turns, etc) or a personal weak area they intend to strengthen (i.e. flexibility, extension, pointe work, etc). These sessions will have a targeted emphasis on specific intended areas of development.
(2) General goals: Sometimes a student desires to improve their overall technique or artistry. These sessions will be approached with a similar structure to a ballet class.
A note from Madison:
My end goal for every student is to help them realize and grow into their fullest potential (both technically and artistically). Being a dancer requires two crucial elements: the ability to work "hard" and (equally important) work "smart." I hope to equip them with the tools they need and support them in their journey towards fulfilling their goals and potential.
"The purpose of the teacher is to 'draw out,' not to 'cram in.'" -Henrietta Mears

Madison has been an answered prayer for us!
She is very accommodating and very detail oriented. From our first session, Madison has provided us such helpful feedback and recommendations. She also went out of her way to provide us so many resources that I️ wish our own studio could have taken the time to provide for us. My daughter is so looking forward to continue to improve her dancing with Madison’s coaching ! We are so very happy with Madison !!

Coach Madison was better than we could have hoped. She evaluated the ability of my daughter and created a personal plan to help her to reach her goals. My daughter not only enjoyed her private lessons with Madison, but really improved her technique in a very short time. Her goal was to be more consistent in her pirouette's before auditioning for competition teams and her very first solo. She has more speed, better posture, and can get in one more pirouette. Thank you coach, Madison! We can't wait to book more lessons with you.
Best, Lorissa (happy mom)

Katie Brady (Student and Dancer at Barnard College of Columbia University) (Testimonial)
Madison Morris is an exceptionally talented dancer. There is no question of her gifts when watching her dance or when examining her very impressive resume. But what makes her so special is her kindness, dedication, passion, and eye for detail. These traits make her an incredible dance coach and person. Many people can dance beautifully, but few possess the capacity to endow their knowledge and passion to a pupil. I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to be a student of Madison's and have benefited from her rare ability to share her love of dance through teaching. Her encouraging words both inspire and improve dancers of all ages. She gives corrections with a positive and supportive attitude as well as conveying them descriptively which enables a dancer to "feel" the movement and music with new qualities. Her style of teaching transcends Ballet from mundane technicalities to an enjoyable exploration for improved technique and real dancing. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to hire or take class from Madison, I recommend her to the utmost degree! She is an extremely qualified, accomplished, knowledgeable, and all around lovely person!
Kaitlyn K (Testimonial)
Madison has been my instructor for about 2 ½ years, and I have greatly benefited from her. I have learned many new techniques during this time, and her wealth of knowledge is very evident. Her exceptional ability in the category of expression and artistry, enables her to effectively relate her expertise in this area to her students. She communicates insights and examples very well, and makes things easier to understand. As a result, I feel that Madison’s coaching methods have helped me to progress at a faster rate. I firmly believe that anyone who has the opportunity to receive instruction from her would benefit a great deal, as I surely have.
Kelsey Dorr (Testimonial)
Madison is one of the best recent teachers I have had. She is great for all levels. Her classes are fun for the new ballet student as well as the advanced. She has a strong background and emphasizes on technique through her class but with a fun and energetic style. I highly recommend taking her class no matter what level.
