More About Coach Lou

I coached at Columbus High School and Archbishop Curley High School in Miami FL for four season from 1983 to 1986. I was the Offensive Coordinator all four years and took each team to the state finals two fo the four seasons. I was high school position coach and OC for Mike Shula (Alabama qb) and for Alonso Highsmith (Univ of Miami RB). I have trained football players on an informal basis throughout my life (family and non members), running the gamut from middle school age through high school age. My first love has always been coaching and training young kids but supporting a family and business concerns took me in another direction. I'm now at the age where I want to "get back in the game" and wanted to investigate your organization in that regard.

I was an high school All American in football and baseball, and also played basketball in high school. I played football at Notre Dame from 1976 through 1980, where I was a member of the 1977 National Champion team. I went to Notre Dame as a quarterback but Joe Montana was the qb at that time so I switched positions and played flanker, where I lettered. I went on as a free agent into the pros and had the proverbial "cup of coffee" with the Patriots and Dolphins (NFL), and Chicago Blitz and Washington Federals (USFL).

Well, that depends on the age and experience of the client. If young and inexperienced, fundamentals are the first step. If a client is more experienced and has been playing the position, then an evaluation of his skill set would be the first step. Evaluation will dictate next steps. Does he have bad habits? are his fundamentals sound? is he having issues in one facet of the position or another? etc
