More About Coach Kurt
I came to the South Bay with a sound background in strength and conditioning for sports. I first realized the importance of strength and conditioning in high school when I trained myself for football and wrestling. The results of my training program led me to All-State football and wrestling awards as well as an All American High School Football mention.
After receiving my degree in physical education, I went on to pursue several certifications in the fitness industry. I have over 25 years experience designing and implementing fitness programs for groups and individuals of all ages and abilities. I spent over two years teaching physical education and health science at the high school level. My teaching experience includes everything from the basics of exercise science to applied sport specific skills at the professional level. I am familiar with teaching in high school setting. I am proficient in aspects of program development, performance assessment, wellness programming, performance nutrition, and weight management. Since earning my degree and certifications, I keep myself up to date with current sports performance information including continued education courses. Additional experiences and skills have helped me in becoming a better instructor and coach.
At this point in my career, I am pursuing a greater emphasis on strength and conditioning and sports performance improvements for the professional and amateur athlete.

I currently work with clients at my home fitness center and at a local field. Training focuses on developing strength, power, speed and agility. Training levels include athletes and non athletes ranging from teens to adults. Ability levels included secondary and high school, amateur and professional. I offer one-on-one and small group exercise instruction, motivation, nutritional counseling, and supplementation. Clients are assessed for health histories, are performance-tested, and are interviewed for performance and fitness goals. A personalized program is then developed and implemented for the client with supervision over workouts, nutrition, and supplementation to maximize results. Clients are taught proper bio-mechanics, exercise and nutrition principles. Progress is measured at regular intervals via accepted measurement tests and procedures.
I also provide fitness program for a local High School where I give fitness and sports related training for students after school education class.
In 2011 I was the Asst. Wrestling Coach, Redondo Union High School. I assisted head coach in conditioning and teaching wrestling skills to entire team. I was the primary coach for Frosh team for meets and tournaments other than varsity. I also assisted coaching during duels and tournaments for j.v. and varsity during home and away meets.
2007- 2010 Loyola Marymount University Men’s Lacrosse Club Team
Designed and implemented preseason strength, power, and speed and agility program 2007. Medic for home games 2008, 2009 and 2010.
2002 – 2004 Studio Medic, E.M.T.
Assess for situational safety during commercial, music video and television filming. Provide emergency medical care for injuries sustained during filming in-studio or on-location. Preparing the injured for transport and communicating patient’s condition to paramedics.
2001 – 2003 Health Science Teacher, Sylmar High School, Sylmar, California
Teaching all aspects of state approved curriculum for high school health class. Topics include anatomy and physiology, fitness, nutrition, drug abuse, sexual education, emotional and psychological well being. Special involvement with the schools Fitness / Wellness Magnet School helping to design and implement courses and programs to prepare students for career possibilities in the fitness and medical fields.
