Fitness coach & NASM certified personal trainer, certified speed and agility coach, and a middle school head XC coach, I enjoy helping youth and adults improve their fitness through an athletic based training program that includes strength, conditioning, and metabolic work. Owner of Kim Munson Fitness, I have a background of developing fitness programs for clients of all abilities. I regularly train adult clients looking to lose weight, gain strength, and improve general fitness and athleticism, and those looking for strength and conditioning programs specific to running. I work with non-sport specific youth athletes looking to improve general fitness,or speed, agility and athleticism, as well as the serious middle school XC or track athlete looking for a fitness program to improve running.

I have a lifelong passion of fitness, strength training and running and constantly seek out new ways to challenge myself and stay active. I compete recreationally in local track meets and regularly enjoy hitting the trails. I've run fun runs and local races; The last 5k I ran I placed 3rd in my age group.
My drive comes from challenging myself and pushing my limits, and helping others do the same. I love to coach. I love to help bring out the best in my athletes.

Sessions typically include various components of each depending on the client's specific goals: Active and dynamic warm up; speed and agility drills; skills/mechanics (when appropriate); running workout (when appropriate); strength and conditioning and metabolic work; mobility and flexibility work; post workout stretch.
The first session, we spend more time going over the athlete's goals, but every session we do a quick check in so I can learn how things are going, how the athlete is feeling, any health issues we need to work with, etc.

Really excellent coaching. My daughter was looking for some coaching on running form to help her in soccer. She was a little nervous to go to a private coach, but Kim instantly made her feel comfortable, and my daughter LOVED it. She already wants a followup session.

Coach Kim trained my son through a detailed program tailored specifically for his love of soccer. After only a single session we were able to see a marked improvement in not only his sprinting speed but also his ability to outpace other players.

Coach Kim was very helpful. I scheduled the coaching session with the goal of improving my running form. Coach Kim walked me through a comprehensive dynamic warmup, then recorded video of my form, and analyzed it with me. Then, she provided several drills to focus on while improving form. She was very hands on and thorough - she even held my foot during one drill so that I could feel how the drill was supposed to feel. She answered all my questions fully, and the whole session felt very relaxed, but also productive. I would 100% get coached by Coach Kim again!

Coach Kim is very knowledgeable. She helped me focus on technique and form. She introduced me to a new workout routine and I could feel the difference while stretching and sprinting.

Coach Kim is exactly what I was looking for in a running coach for my two teenagers. She was professional, gave lots of tips/feedback and most importantly saw each kid independently. My daughter received guidance on form and my son received tips on how to increase his power. Coach Kim explained to them that they have different running styles and that was normal. Neither style was better/worse than the other. Both kids felt positive and encouraged. Lastly, Coach Kim left them with homework (stretches, exercises) to continue their learning.

My son really enjoyed working with coach Kim, she focused on the needs he has and sent us home with videos of his work. We will definitely continue our work with her. The setting at Saratoga High is also lovely and it invites the waiting parent to spend time jogging the track or taking care of self while coach and student are working.

Coach Kim was great! Not fit after a long period of inactivity and she really eased me into things in a slow and steady manner with the requisite stretches and mix of sprints vs jogging exercises.

I met Kim for the first (of what I hope and plan to be many) sessions today. She was attentive, professional, easy going, supportive, and knowledgable. As a runner, I've never had any formal training and Kim was really great at coaching me through each dynamic warm up, explaining drills, pointing out areas where my form could be improved, and leading me through a cool down stretching routine. I find it difficult to make myself perform structured running drills or speed workouts, but having Kim help me through these made it fun and our hour passed so quickly! I'm looking forward to seeing how much I can improve with her consistent coaching.
