More About Coach Kevin
Over 20 years athletic training experience including a CrossFit Level 1 trainer since 2012 with emphasis in Olympic Lifting. Over 4 years as Strength & Conditioning and Defensive Back Coach at the high school level. Also, 16 years as Owner/Coach of Fitness Boot Camp in San Diego. I've worked with male and female athletes from 8-68 years old.
Played 3 sports at the high school level - football, baseball and basketball. Won various athletic awards in all sports including 2 years as an all-CIF defensive back. Played competitive beach volleyball in Mission Beach for the past 15 years.
All workouts start with a specific, athletic warm-up including mobility and flexibility movements. We then move on to a functional strength movement based on the athlete's age and sport. Next, we complete a metabolic conditioning workout utilizing various functional fitness movements including TRX Suspension trainers, medicine balls, kettlebells, sandbags, etc.
High School Performance Training (13-18 years old) is designed to develop strength, power, speed and agility using Olympic lifts and advanced speed dynamics.
Youth Performance Development (8-12 years old) creates a foundation in coordination, athleticism, body-weight exercises and proper running technique in a positive environment.

Client Reviews
Ken (Testimonial)
I have run a marathon and many half-marathons, cycled across Oregon, and played competitive basketball for years, but workouts with Kevin are the most intense, invigorating and challenging exercise I’ve ever done. Kevin pushes me to work harder than I ever could on my own. He takes me through a variety of strength, speed and conditioning drills with energy and humor. Workouts are intense and fun, and give me terrific endurance, strength and power for other sports.
James (Testimonial)
I met Kevin in the early part of summer 2003 after doing a lot of web-research for a trainer. Kevin’s site popped up first on my searches, I was a bit reluctant at first at the “non-gym” aspect of his training but decided to take him up on his “free first session” — I left the workout a sweaty puddle of excitement. No longer would I need to drag myself to the gym for another mundane workout — most of time I would never actually go to the gym — rather, the customized workouts that Kevin provided for me to gain speed and strength for triathlon racing worked well. Before meeting Kevin, my first race of the season I placed in the middle of the pack and felt dejected — I then worked with Kevin and by the last race of the season I almost cracked the Top 10, I got 11th! In addition to this new-found strength and speed, 15 pounds in 3 months has come off of me and I have a solid base from which to build on for next season. More strength, less body weight, faster legs all adds up to a better race as well as more confidence and the end of the “maybe next time” attitude. Kevin’s attitude and ability to listen to my “wants” while having the knowledge base to know what I “need” is great — I just show up and follow his lead. “
Mary B. (Testimonial)
Kevin’s no-nonsense approach gets results. I was struggling to get back into a steady routine after spending the past few years on a heavy work travel schedule and not only is training with Kevin the perfect kick-start, but has also been the key component to making the overall fitness changes I needed. I have lost weight, lowered my body fat significantly, gone down 3 jeans sizes and gained a tremendous amount of strength. The workouts are intense and certainly not dull, making the most of the limited time I have. The menus and between session workouts Kevin prepares really help keep me on track as well.
