More About Coach Kevin
I have worked at Velocity Sports Performance as a speed, strength and agility coach. Where I coached all age groups, 8 years old through adulthood. Class sizes varied from one on one sessions to large team groups or camps of up to three hundred athletes. I was an intern coach for the Brigham Young University Football team for two years. During this time I helped maintain the weight room along with overseeing the training of walk-on candidates. I was an assistant speed and agility coach for the Brigham University Lacrosse team. In this role I helped run the specific drills for developing speed and endurance as well as conducting team workouts in the weight room. I was an assistant head coach of the Oviedo High School boys and girls wrestling teams.
I was a three sport athlete in high school. I played football, lacrosse and I wrestled. In football I played defensive back and helped our team reach the elite eight in the Florida state playoffs. In Wrestling I was a conference and district champion, regional and state qualifier. I won the Wrestler of the year award my senior year and lead our team in pins. In lacrosse I was a three year varsity player and captain for two years. I was twice selected for the Florida All-Star Team. I received the Most Valuable Player Award my junior and senior years. I played Four years of lacrosse at Brigham Young University. While I was there we made to the final four twice and in 2007 won the MCLA National Championship. After college I have gotten into endurance sports where I have competed in 5k's, 10k's, 15k's, half marathons, marathons and triathlons.
Lesson plans are based on the athletes needs and desires. Workouts begin with an active dynamic warm up for about ten minutes. After that we move into drills based on the clients needs (speed, agility, endurance, sprint technique...).everything is concluded with a cool down stretch. Sessions last about an hour but can be adjusted based on needs.
