I have been practicing yoga for eight years with the last two years being a regular daily practice. As a result of physical and mental benefits I achieved through yoga, I enrolled in yoga teacher training to deepen my knowledge and practice. In training I earned a 200 hour Vinyasa yoga teacher certification and am now a Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher. I have over a year of teaching Vinyasa yoga classes to beginner and advanced students and I have a taught private lessons catering to an individual's unique needs and goals. I am able to work with rehabilitating injuries, improving flexibility, developing strength, enhancing body awareness and work with people suffering from stress-related problems such as insomnia and headaches.

Each session I provide is uniquely tailored to the needs of the individual. My initial session with a client is to assess their desired goals and current fitness of their mind and body. My work emphasizes the importance of safe and proper alignment in order for the individual to develop and enhance the use of their bodies. By building a foundation of mindfulness, fitness goals can be achieved in a safe and proper way.

For a new practitioner to yoga, I start by collaborating goals and explore what the client hopes to gain from these sessions. From there, I assess the physical and mental fitness of the client in order to set a baseline to work from. It doesn't matter if you can touch your toes or not, there is always room to improve strength, flexibility, and increase efficiency in body movement. When going through poses, I educate the client on the benefit of the pose and teach proper alignment through verbal cues and light hands-on adjustments. The set of postures for each session are determined by the client's needs and goals and will work as building blocks to achieve their goals. I also take a small portion of the session to check in with the client's physical and psychological health as a tool to monitor our progress and improve the clarity of the mind and body.
