More About Coach Keith

Keith is a coach of Track West Track Club and Sprints Coach at Dana Hills High School. He brings knowledge and experience to coaching with an emphasis on correct running mechanics, strength and conditioning, along with mental preparation for competition. He is a level 2 USA Track and Field Certified Coach and has coached international champions as well as US National Champions, League Champions and CIF Finalists.

Keith began Track and Field in 1987, competing in most of the events throughout his youth. He received awards on the youth, high school, collegiate and open levels. Keith is currently competing as a Masters 400/800m athlete, where he is a 4 time National Champion at 400/800m. He recently returned home from the World Championships in Brazil, where he was a finalist in both the 400 and 800 meters, and won a Silver Medal on the USA 4x400m relay team.

Warm up with jogging then a series of stretching and drills, then a typical running workout, could be any of the following, speed, endurance, core training, form or technical training, to assist the client in achieving his or her goals.

Coach Keith is a super nice man and excellent coach for all ages. He doesn't push young kids excessively and tailors his work outs to the skill level of the athlete. When my 9 y/o son sprained his back he just had him do stretching and drills for a half hour instead of running. Great guy and coach.

Coach Keith was great with my 9-yr-old son! Worked on running mechanics but also incorporated plyometric drills. Over all it was a super fun, positive and age appropriate training session. Will book more sessions with coach Keith and highly recommend him for young athletes!

Coach Keith is an amazing coach! My thirteen year old daughter just started with him and is already feeling the difference in the speed of her sprinting. He always has everything planned beforehand and she loves his coaching style. He is also very knowledgable in everything that has to do with running. My daughter has knee problems and he is able to find the right drills and exercises to help her. We highly recommend him as a running coach.

Coach Keith has been nothing less than outstanding for my 12 year old son. My son was very interested in sprinting so I started taking him to train with Coach Keith. In just two sessions, my son has already shown significant improvement. More importantly, training with Coach Keith has motivated my son to exercise and train more on his own. First session was absolutely incredible! This guy knows what he is doing. He inspires confidence and can clearly convey instruction. Our first session was 2 hours. Coach Keith was totally prepared for the instruction and it was clear he understood Track and Field. My daughter and I really liked Coach Keith! We can't wait for our next session.

Coach Keith did a great job with my 8 year old son. When my son first came to Keith, his form was poor and he was slow. I saw immediate improvement after the first session. I had the privilege of being coached by Keith Chambers my senior year of high school. During his first sessions I was amazed by how much knowledge he had about the sport of Track and Field, such as knowing about all of the times, PR's, and past performances of Olympians and world leaders in the sport, along with knowledge about how muscles worked, why we did the workouts we did, and what systems to train in at what time. After just one conversation with him I could tell how dedicated he is to the sport and motivated to do everything he can to get his athletes to their highest performance possible. During workouts he motivated us to run harder and always had end goals in mind for us, which helped us stay focused and know what we wanted out of this sport. He pushed us when we needed to be pushed and he always believed in us no matter what the circumstances were. His coaching paid off as we had many athletes move on to CIF because of him; in particular, the 4x400m. The previous season with a different coach our relay team ran a time of 4:01; with his coaching, and the same girls running the relay, we made it to the CIF State meet with a PR of 3:49. His knowledge, ability to connect personally with each of his athletes, and dedication makes him a great coach, and I constantly wish I could have had him as a coach for more than just my last season.
