More About Coach Karson
I do not have formal coaching experience yet, but I’ve been playing football since I was three years old. I played throughout my entire childhood, all the way through high school, and I currently play for Drake University. Growing up in sports has given me a strong understanding of training, discipline, teamwork, and athlete development. I’ve spent years learning from coaches at multiple levels, and I bring that experience, work ethic, and knowledge of the game to any role.
I have been competing in football my entire life and will be entering my sophomore season at Drake University. As a freshman, I earned meaningful playing time and recorded an interception in my first-ever collegiate game, which was a major milestone for me. Throughout high school, I was recognized as an Honorable Mention selection in both my junior and senior seasons. My athletic career has been defined by consistency, discipline, and steady improvement at every level I’ve competed.
A client can expect a highly detailed, technique‑focused session built around the fundamentals of playing defensive back. As a corner who ran a 4.3 in high school and continues to compete at the collegiate level, I emphasize precision, footwork, and efficiency in every drill. I start sessions with a dynamic warm‑up and mobility work to make sure the athlete is moving well. From there, I focus on DB‑specific techniques such as stance and alignment, backpedal mechanics, hip transitions, press‑man hand placement, and breaking out of the pedal with speed and control. I walk athletes through each movement step‑by‑step, making sure they understand not just what to do, but why it matters on the field. I’m big on clean footwork, eye discipline, and body control, and I give constant feedback so the athlete can feel their improvement in real time. Sessions usually finish with reaction drills, ball skills, and game‑speed reps to build confidence and translate technique into real play situations. My goal is to help athletes move like true DBs — fast, disciplined, and technically sharp.
