More About Coach Kam

I've coached swimming for 8 years at a fitness facility in Indianapolis. All of my former athletes have made top clubs, high school teams, and one will receive a scholarship to college/university. While I did enjoy working with the very young (6-up), I've decided that my passion is to coach the next level (15-up). While true that I only made it to the State competition as a high school athlete, I have confidence that my coaching style and knowledge can help athletes improve and have success on any level of competition.

My athletic highlights moved away from swimming as I chose to pursue the avenue of Olympic hopeful in the realm of Track & Field. The thing is, I never stopped loving competitive swimming and so upon retiring from a Nike sponsored track lifestyle I returned to the water.
With regards to swimming, my highlights are proudly displayed in the success of more than 100 of my former swimming pupils. Most of them are just now finishing up successful high school careers and a few will compete at the collegiate level. All of them saw huge performance gains and went on to join competitive swim clubs and teams.

The programs differ depending upon weather a swimmer is proficient, strong or elite. I'll except any swimmer as long as they meet the minimum requirement. You must be HUNGRY to learn, willing to master the fundamentals and ready to try your very best. Those who are weak swimmers who meet the above standard will become awesome and those who are awesome and DO NOT meet the above standards will be refunded from my personal account and dismissed from additional sessions.
That being said. All swimmers will begin with an assessment of their understanding and execution of the fundamentals for all relevant competitive strokes. We troubleshoot and refine those fundamentals (takes longer or less time per athlete/capabilities) and then we go from there.
Here is where I shine and differentiate myself from all other coaches. We focus on the strengths and weaknesses of each swimmer. We generate drills and workouts that address those strengths and weaknesses. We have fun, unique and effective drills and workouts that celebrate or expose those strengths and weaknesses. I have a keen eye for critical analysis of defects in fundamentals (not style preferences), so style preferences which do not degrade performance (and meet rule requirements) are encouraged. Finally, I excel in the art of reverse "engineering" elite performances which means that I incorporate championship/world record/elite style options into my instruction and the athlete gets to select or refuse any option they see fit.
