I coach athletes from the ages of 8 and up in individual and group sessions as well as have experience in running camps. I take PRIDE in helping individuals succeed and I teach age appropriate strength and conditioning methods, biomechanics, movement patterns, and proper technique which builds athletes to become physically and mentally tougher, have increased confidence while enhancing their quality of life in a positive environment and reducing their risk of injury. Also certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
As a former multiple sport athlete throughout my youth and one year football letterman at Cisco College and three year football letterman at Tarleton State University I understand the values that sports can teach youth about life lessons and I enjoy making a positive impact on those I work with. In high school I received the scholarship/leadership award for the male athlete of the year as well as an athletic scholarship and academic scholarship which helped me pursue my dream to play collegiate football through hard work, commitment, and dedication.
After an initial assessment and screening takes place the athlete can expect a typical session to include the following:
1) General warm up, mobility, and movement prep drills.
2) Dynamic flexibility and speed drills.
3) Linear speed, lateral/change of direction, and agility drills based on the training day.
4) Appropriate power development exercises.
5) Comprehensive and balanced muscular strength development.
6) Conditioning/sport specific energy system development.
7) Cool down and static/passive flexibility.
Sessions will also include information about goal setting, proper nutrition and hydration, and developing a positive mindset.
