I have 37 years experience training and coaching athletes to improve Performance and Strength and Conditioning at the High School, Collegiate, and Professional levels as well as coaching other individuals to reach their basic fitness and Strength & Conditioning goals. I have been a Strength & Conditioning Consultant to the Denver Broncos in 1983, and also an assistance Strength & Conditioning Coach and consultant at the local high school for four years

I am have the following certifications: ISSA Specialist in Strength & Conditioning , USA Powerlifting Senior National Coach / Club Coach, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, Special Olympics Powerlifting Coach, CPR /AED / First Aid, NFHS Certifications.

I will coach anyone who is participating in sports or who wants to prepare to participate in sports; Children 12 yrs to adult, and mature individuals who want to become stronger, improve their balance, stability, flexibility, and mobility. I also offer nutritional and hydration guidance for improved health and sports performance.

I was a completive powerlifter in Colorado and won the state title in 1983 in the 165 lb. weight class. I Played completive sports in High School: Football, Baseball, Track & Field.

I start with an interview with the client to determine their goals, their level of commitment, and their understanding and attitude towards training. Then, an assessment of their current physical condition to determine a starting point. From there I would develop an outline of the program and then meet with the client again to explain the program, its progression and duration. After that we would schedule a starting date to implement the program. The client's current abilities, level of performance, and sports or activity experience would determine what specifics we would focus on. i.e. basic fundamentals, drills, techniques, skill, etc.

August 2,2016 Coach John is an excellent strength coach. He helped me with my weakest lift which is the bench press. By following his coaching technique, I was able to get 30 pounds above my previous lifetime personal best bench press lift. Coach emphasizes proper technique to gain max results. His workouts also include working all the accessory muscles to continue building strength and make gains on your lifts. I went to Coach Vitale when I began to experience severe back pain. I have had surgery to fuse my lumbar spine and had recently herniated another disk adjacent to the fusion. I have DDD, Scoliosis, arthritis, and spondylolisthesis. I was limping, in constant pain, and hunched over from the multiple related muscular deficiencies and the disk herniation. Coach Vitale was very cognizant of my age in developing a strength training regimen to improve my core strength which in turn would reduce pain, improve posture, and revitalize me physically. All during our sessions, Coach explained the cause and effect of the exercise. He also emphasized good nutrition as part of my program. A year after my sessions with Coach Vitale, I can raise myself from a sitting position without having to push off a chair or bounce around to get momentum.
